He is SF and he can't play as PF. Maybe 5 mins.
His offense is based on isolation and he mostly takes contested shots. His 3pt shooting is good.

He nailed it.
Good 3 ball
Avg to below avg ISO game.
Good work ethic as well.
Off court had a bad year. The years before that he wasn't a headache though I honestly think once the legal troubles are behind him he won't be a headcase.
He's a rotation player

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.
Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

He can't play without his brother.... so get on the horn to SVG. Seriously.... this is a scrub baller lucky to have had his second contract. Been traded twice for second round picks. Somebody will eventually clue in. He was a no risk move for you guys, but don't expect much and for gawdsakes, don't let him out-ego the locker room.

I don't agree with everything from above. I think he can play the 4 in a SVG offense with Drummond in the middle, especially if Stanley is at the 3. He can be VERY good, or average. He is streaky. I think playing for a guy like SVG will be good for him.
I'd let it play out before making opinions. I've seen some Detroit fans already wanting to get rid of him. He IS a hothead but you guys are used to that, so it might not matter as much. He may shape up to some extent given his past problems too (not something I'd count on though), and more experienced coaching. He is on a fantastic contract though, especially once the cap jumps.

Stanley is sort of a tweener so I don't know about playing him at the 4 to fill the void left by Monroe leaving. But he looks to be a stud and I think Stanimal will take that accolade if he's played as an SF as a rookie

He's a very lite version of Carmelo Anthony.

Very lite ? S**t, he isn't even a night light compared to Melo. Marcus is a dim bulb with low wattage.

Re: Marcus morris
What i got from reading this thread is Marcus morris is a perfect fit for SVG's offense. i really think offensively he's goign to improve in SVG's system, my question is how will he play defensively as that's what gets guys minutes on SVG's teams.

If his heart is in it he's a capable defender.
I'll tell you what surprised me - he guards LaMarcus Aldridge OUTSTANDINGLY. I remember various match-ups and he more than held his own against LMA, which is no small feat.

Yes he can play sf. He needs someone else to create for him. He's more of a catch and shoot guy. His defense is okay. His midrange game is okay. He excels at shooting the 3.

Re: Marcus morris
Even next to a plus rebounder like Drummond, I still don't think you'll be pleased to play him at PF. He's not a good rebounder when played at the pf, he has the body proportions of a big wing, he has the game of a big wing...he's a big wing. The best players for him to guard are other big wings (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bo__-2hess) where he can use his size as an advantage.
In the half court, he can create for himself but not for teammates. He has a few high assist games on his resume, but those mostly come in transition. The quality of shot he can create is...middling at best, but it's probably not going to submarine you unless you let it.
He's a horrid rebounder at the PF position, but he does okay at it when playing at the SF. He put together a very strong post all star break playing at SF, where he did everything at a decent level EXCEPT make his outside shot. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that he can probably hold on to some of the gains he made in defense, rebounding (again, against SFs - do not play him at PF for >5 mins a game unless you want to die) and that he'll get some of his outside shot back.

There's what 2 of his strongest games post-deadline look like. He also had a game where he smoked the Jazz pre-deadline, the highlights are on youtube if you want to look for them.
The main issue with Marcus is that even if you add all of his strengths up, he's still middling good and his weaknesses can quickly pile up and outweigh his usefulness. It really hurts him that he doesn't do any one thing at an elite level. You need to take extra care to make sure he's put in a position to succeed, like most role players. The issue is he's by nature a ball dominant type of player and he's not particularly great with the ball in his hands but he's not great at doing off ball stuff either.

Nope, he thinks he's LeBron.

Yea, we should all respect that imaginary no trade clause he has in his contract

Re: Marcus morris
Marcus is a bum, but at least he was a better 3pt shooter and rebounder than Kieff.

He's a solid role playing SF. Should not be a starter for any team imo. He should be a 7-9 in a rotation for a good team. Disagree with some above--I think he's a legit head case and that they legal issues are a result of it, not the cause of it.
He, to me, is the biggest reason our chemistry was so awful. Him continuing to go at fans, taking no responsibility for being moved, and the other things I've seen show him to be someone who is incapable of admitting fault. He's not a grown up, and he's so horribly immature that I don't think he can handle a coach like SVG. We'll see though.

Honestly i think what the Suns did here was pretty dirty and underhanded. The twins took pay cuts to stay together and maximize value for the Suns. Out of respect for the two sacrificing their value, they could have at least discussed a trade with him.... and now his brother wants to be traded and probably will.
I have no idea what the suns are doing as a franchise. When they had that near playoff year a couple years back i was really looking forward to them becoming a similar team to the late 2000s Denver teams. But lets hope they get their **** together this season.
