Ahhhh, the Smoothie King Center. Even it has a better name than Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Pels beat the Spurs. This will be a tight one. Thankfully AD can't really do much to nullify our guards.

Don't let the Pelicans record fool you, they been plagued by injuries all season. Still though, we should be able to win this. Gonna go with Knight getting 35/8/5/2 and Bledsoe with 28/8/8/2. Warren with 16 points off the bench. AD with 72 points, all on Markieff Morris. Morris gets 4 points 1/13 shooting.

Im not sure which team you're putting the jinx on with those stat lines.

the next stretch of 5 games should really put this team to the test
@ New Orleans
@ San Antonio
Vs New Orleans
Vs Golden state

I'm thinking New Orleans x2 and Toronto are doable, though I'm hoping to break Golden State's streak and would be ecstatic if we got an early win against the Spurs. We're being put through the ringer now.

I'd say stretch of 10 games:

@ Brooklyn
@ Detroit
@ Washington
@ Memphis
@ Chicago

- 8 of the next 10 on the road.
- we play 3 of the 4 teams with the best record
- aside from New Orleans and Brooklyn, all opponents are over .500
- we're playing two teams on the road that have already beaten us at home

Also, I'm not sleeping on the pelicans for a second.

Next ten games will be a good test for this team.

if i were in the locker room, i would've penciled the Bulls in as a team i really wanted to beat. i want to prove that. the truth is that they're a huge mismatch problem with their frontcourt rotation. the Spurs, unfortunately, also have a great frontcourt rotation, but i feel like Knight and Bled are going to come out on a mission early. if the score is close by the end of the first quarter, i think we're in trouble. if we're up 10 or 15, i think we can win it. the Spurs will come back in the 2nd or 3rd, probably bringing the lead down to 2, but we'll come prepared. i think we will win that game. as for the W's, i think it kind of depends on how we come out for the Spurs. if we lose that game, it means we're not ready for that caliber of team yet. if we win, we'll bring that same energy. i don't know if we can actually beat Golden State, although we might have a decent chance of doing so compared to its previous victims, but i do think we can beat the Spurs.

and as for the Pels, don't let that 2-11 record fool you. if Ant Man is on the floor, he is a HUGE problem, even if he's not 100%. a win over the Mavs means they're starting to pick it up. it will probably be on Kieff to play some damn fine defense. otherwise, we might have a problem there. also, Eric Gordon, our previously star-crossed free agent signing, is looking mighty good this season. i wonder if he ever thinks about us. "my heart is in Phoenix," he once said. (let's hope that's still true! maybe he'll give us one for old time's sake.) i anticipate that we'll win, based on record alone, but we can't just write them off. they've got some serious talent.

(in addition, it would be really cool if we were playing the Saints! lol)

You might want to replace the current photo of Keef with a photo of a D - bag jar.

I think 5-5 would be a pass in the next 10 in terms of going for 8th seed.

If I'm being carried away I might look to take some scalps and try to go 6-4 to show we might even be able to maintain / contend for our 4th seed. 13-9 is on track for 50 wins.

Of course we finally get the Pelicans after they are pumped up after knocking off the Spurs...Anderson with two 30+ games in a row...Gentry praising his D too..

Anderson comes in hot as well, having recorded back-to-back 30-point outings. The stretch forward went 6 of 11 from 3 against San Antonio.

"It's not just his shot-making. He's playing with force and he's been good defensively, so he's been good in all of those areas for us," Gentry said.

Article also talks about Knight and Bledsoe... http://espn.go.com/nba/preview?gameId=400828085

I would pencil in all the teams on the schedule as ones I really wanted to beat.

Damn, what's a talking stick going to do when he comes up to a smoothie king? Sounds like a losing proposition.

Don't know if I can make the game tomorrow. It'll be the first one I've missed here in NOLA in a few years if I don't make it out.

i think i'd especially want to beat Chicago, because i want to prove to myself and the fans that we're an upper echelon team. it's early. perceptions aren't fixed yet. beating Chicago would (have) made a statement.

That was a hell of a game, with Jimmy Butler just coming up big time and again for Chicago. Even if we aren't "upper echelon" don't think for a second that teams think we're an easy W for them.

for example: if i'm Bled, i'm thinking i can bring my B game to the Pels game and still win. the reason i might coast a little for that game is so i can save my energy for the Spurs game. it means more to beat a better opponent, both because of playoff seed implications and because it's harder. if i remember correctly, that's all i was saying.

With the "B" game you don't win anyone but Philadelphia in the NBA. Every team is full of great players and we are early in the schedule so they have expectations. It is a MUST to bring your best effort every single game.
