Curry is not worth voting for because he is an automatic, and I would MUCH rather Westbrook be the other starter than Harden (or Kobe).

So I voted:

Bledsoe
Westbrook
Durant
Nowitzki
Towns (on second thought I should have voted for Draymond Green, but I forgot about him. I was having a hard time finding that fifth person...it's hard to like anyone else in the west)

Lowry
Wall
George
Millsap
Drummond

If Kobe makes it over both of our guards...

good point about automatic in's, but don't the coaches pick the reserves? so if i had voted for Bledsoe, that wouldn't factor into the coaches' decision, right?

No, some coaches might look at the votes and it might influence them a little when picking reserves (why I voted Bledsoe over Curry) but they probably base it more on having to play against guards and watching them.

But they only way Kobe COULD get in is if he got voted in. Harden possibly too since he has played like crap. He may have put up a lot of points at times, but his efficiency has cost the team, so if he isn't voted in, I don't know if the coaches would reward that or not.

of COURSE it's costing the team. what do you think is hurting the Rockets more - Ty Lawson not shooting at all, or James Harden MISSING 10 shots, every game?

Harden's eFG% is hovering around 47%. that means that if you counted his 3PM's as 1.5 2PM's, and took that number of 2PM's/current total of FGA's, that would be his FG%. luckily, he makes FT's at one of the best rates in the league. say you took those 10 shots and gave them to Terrence Jones, Trevor Ariza, D-Mo, and assisted by Harden, they made those shots with an eFG% of 66 (in other words, converted those 10 shots 2/3 of the time). that's an extra 13 PPG.

Dwight is supposed to be taking those shots, but you never know what you're going to get from him anymore. even so, all Harden has to do is STOP SHOOTING! he's killing that team, and i'm certain it got Kevin McHale fired. no way i'm voting for him.....although i don't think many people will, as long as they understand what's going on there.

Hope Westbrook will get more votes than Kobe. He would be the worst All Star ever.

Well, since much of China's 1.35 billion population became Rockets fans when Yao Ming played there, many probably still are, and if international voting is allowed, then he's got a pretty damn good chance.

I wonder who will get more votes this year: Harden or Jeremy Lin? seriously, I wouldn't mind it if the coaches just picked the teams.

No way they make the allstar team with a losing record.

I'm more interested to see if Knight, Booker, or Mirza get invited for 3pt shoot out.

Lin will probably have a better chance of getting voted in than usual, in the east. His fans could be really into his team since they are in 2nd right now.

Would be good if the fans could also vote for the 3PT comp entrants.

I remember reading that Asian fans soured on the rockets after the Lin ordeal. Kobe is by far the most like liked player in China other than Yao Ming or Stephon Marbury. Plus the Lakers had Lin..Lakers are the most popular team in China. With that said if Kobe makes the all-star game, they really need to change the way voting is done.

I did Bledsoe/Curry/Cousins/Green/Davis for West and Millsap/George/Porzingis/Lowry/Butler for East. I guess it's a pipe dream to have no Clippers in the starting lineup

well....michael jordan made the all-star team his last year. it's more of an honorary thing. i have more of problem with Harden than Kobe. if Kobe doesn't get voted on, i'm sure someone might give up their spot to him. or, maybe Russell Westbrook will shake things up and say he doesn't deserve it. man, would those be some fireworks! we all know the relationship between Russ and the media is tense already, but if they could pressure him to give up his All-Star selection to Kobe, and he says no? all hell would break loose. (maybe somebody else will get pressured. or maybe it won't happen. interesting thing to watch....)
