Game 30: Phoenix Suns (12-17) @ Utah Jazz (11-14)

Post#1 » by Saberestar » Mon Dec 21, 2015 10:06 pm

Projected starting lineups

C: Tyson Chandler … Derrick Fvors

PF: Jon Leuer … Trey Lyles

SF: P.J. Tucker … Gordon Hayward

SG: Brandon Knight … Rodney Hood

PG: Eric Bledsoe … Raul Neto

Another difficult game.
IF we win this one we would be a playoff team, just amazing. GO SUNS!

Well, as crazy and top heavy as the west is, if we win, we'd be 2.5 games back of the 8 seed, but if we lose, we'd have the 5th worst record set up for the 5th pick.

It looks like whoever finishes 9th in the west will draft more in the range of 9-11 than 14th as usual.

This may sound bad but I don't really want us to win as all that does is paper over the cracks and keeps Hornacek in a job.

That said I'd love it if they played really well and won.

I would want Suns to lose their next 10 games if it finally forces them to ship Kieff and Tucker, fire Horny and play youngsters instead of chasing playoffs.

Looking at their upcoming schedule, it looks like, on paper, that they should go about 4-12. That puts them at 16-29.

Yup. Brutal games coming up. Suns has had a relatively easy schedule... And way below 500

Yep and our offense has been the primary culprit. Nobody can run a play without turning it over. Especially out of dead ball situations. We need a real point guard.

We have played the 17th toughest. But the Pelicans, Grizz, Jazz and Kings have played the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 7th toughest. So there is a good chance all those teams finish ahead of us. If the TWolves get better throughout the season, they might too, though they have played the 27th toughest, so their's will get harder. It's really not that improbable that we end up with the 5th pick again in a bad draft. Though any time you pick that high, with a really good chance to get top 3, it is worth it. It would be nice if we could get Dragan Bender.

Yup which is exactly why it's pointless to keep going this same old road. Trade the older guys, play the younger guys more, lose more and get a better pick while developing our young guys who actually have some upside. Trade Knight, Kieff, Tucker, Goodwin and even our later round 1sts and get more young talent in.

This Utah team when fully healthy has some great young players in it. Favors, Gobert, Hayward, Hood, Exum and Burk. I'm pretty envious of them!

A lot of good PFs in the next draft. I have seen around 5 in the first 12 picks on the Chad Ford's mock.

Damn, I wasn't that excited for this game but now I'm REALLY excited. I mean, that lineup should work much better. Knight provides the scoring punch off the bench now, and Warren can be secondary scorer. My only earlier worry with Warren starting was I didn't want him to be the 4th option behind the two guards and Kieff, but now that Leuer starts and Booker will spread the floor it should work really well.

I was just finally getting really down on this team too, and people know I probably hold out hope for the longest. Heck with the Chargers I still had playoff hopes at 2-7, but that 8th loss did me in.

Now I have renewed spirits just in time!

We've all wanted it and here it is. I'm gonna try an watch the first quarter closely to see how they play together. I would like to see Len start too with this group though.

I'm not in love with Booker starting, but man... Warren will open up our game by a mile.

Should run this lineup for ten games before making any changes. Give them a chance to gel. The bench with Knight, Kief, and Len could be devastating.
