Should be an interesting game.

Pacers are a team I think could be in the market for Kieff, he'd be PERFECT as their starting 4 and they've got a lot of movable contracts and picks too. Bird's been known to take chances on guys with question marks and Kieff is no different.

GO SUNS!!

Here's our chance to showcase Len and Warren so we can trade them for Paul George! :D

Alex can't catch a break with these constant injuries. I like him as a prospect but we can't really count on him to be available.

I'm about to flip a coin to see if I should watch this game or not. I just honestly can't stand watching Knight playing PG.

I like Price a lot because he plays great defense but this just shows you how much of a waste Knight is because Price has become one of our most important player of late.

BTW count this as 27 L if Knight runs the floor tonight.

Price is not a great defender at all. He's an energetic defender, who doesn't always defend smartly because he presses almost regardless of scouting reports, and in his 10 year career he has had a positive defensive box plus minus score just twice (most recently in Orlando in 2013), which means in every other single season his team defended better with him off the floor, including this Suns team.

Suns have won the previous four meetings between these two squads. However, a lot has changed since they last met. Here's the game preview via Valley of the Suns:

Great defender or energetic defender the fact still remains he's a defender. Yes you have a point in that he doesn't defend smartly at times when he presses but I'll rather have him as our floor general than Knight who still hasn't figured out how to play point guard.

BTW are you into analytics ?

The Suns have 11 available players, including 10-day contract addition Lorenzo Brown, for tonight’s game at Indiana with Len sitting out this road trip because of his left hand sprain. Price will be out again for a right big toe sprain.

Len’s absence means the need for Tyson Chandler to avoid fouls and a chance for Markieff Morris to have steady playing time as a backup center.

Morris has played twice since Christmas – six first-half minutes with three fouls Friday and a 20-minute game in a blowout loss at San Antonio.

“He has played five in the past,” Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. “More than likely, he’ll be there. Jon will play some five. I think this is an opportunity for Markieff to get in there, whether we have Jon (Leuer) or Mirza (Teletovic) in there. We’ll be a little bit smaller but Markieff always has battled for rebounds anyway so we’ll be able to survive that.

“That might help him (Morris) get in the flow a little better. There’s probably some pressure when he first gets in there and you want to try to score and show what you have. There’ll be more minutes out there for him to do that.”

OMG, this is just incredible. They are going to play Morris big minutes again.... :banghead:

It's just pathetic. How many times they need to see Markieff playing bad on purpose to take care of the situation??!

Alex Len out the next three games... I was expecting only one but well...it's Alex Len.

This HAS to be an effort to get him some trade value while getting exposure in the east, and he has to know it. He has to know it will only help his effort to get out of here if he plays well. It makes some sense given the fact that the 15th is Friday and, of course, because we are as banged up as we are. But I'd still be perfectly fine with Leuer as backup 5 with PJ at 4, or if Telly gets hot again, leave him out there.

He's a defender in the sense that his offense is so bad that he is better at defense. That is it though. 80% of his career, the teams he is on are better defensively when he's off the court. Good defenders don't have that issue.

Knight is a horrid defender, but his offense makes him the better overall player, even if he's not really a PG. Brandon also has a higher assist % than Price and a lower TO %. I'm not saying Brandon is some world beater, but Price is just awful. I'm only happy he even remotely plays right now because he helps the tank as a below replacement level player at both sides of the ball.

Archie should get Price's minutes simply because he's so much younger he may develop, and because we're tanking anyways.

I'm not certain Markieff playing is necessarily driven by the FO in an effort to trade him. When Hornacek wanted to win games earlier this year he gave him chance after chance. I think it's more that Hornacek still believes Kieff can be a good player for us, even though Leuer and Tele this year have statistically been better than Kieff has basically ever been in a Suns uni from an advanced numbers perspective.

Looks like we will be showcasing Morris tonight and for the next 3 games or so:

Jeff Hornacek implied that Markieff Morris will have the opportunity to get some extended run with Alex Len (hand) out for Phoenix's three-game road trip.
"I think this is an opportunity for Markieff to get in there," Jeff Hornacek said of Morris' increased opportunity sans Len. "We’ll be a little bit smaller but Markieff always has battled for rebounds anyway so we’ll be able to survive that. That might help him (Morris) get in the flow a little better."

The Suns might be down 3 point guards. Brandon Knight is ill. If he can't play, Archie Goodwin will start. Lorenzo Brown subs. #SunsAtPacers

So if Knight is not playing then all that is left is Goodwin, Booker, Weems, and a guy they signed to a 10-day contract. Gonna be real interesting. Hopefully Knight feels better soon though.
