I'd like to see how the latest lineup against OKC continues to work out
Knight
Booker
Warren
Tucker
Chandler
It is a really interesting starting lineup that deserves more burn.
I know folks hate Tuck but he still plays with more energy and hustle than any other player on our team. The lineup can definitely hit the three ball and run the pick-n-roll with Chandler. The most important thing is our two young guys are forced to contribute on offense because we don't usually get that much out of Tucker or Chandler. That's what we really need. At this point in the season I would move Kief and stand pat with the other guys ... Unless a blockbuster deal shows up where we can get a reasonably young superstar/all-star player.

Ok, you say you would dump Morris for whatever, and i provided whatever.
Smith is an expiring, and a player the Clippers want to trade to open up a roster spot, and we help them do that at the expense of their late 1st round pick. At a time where we are having major issues with our PF/C depth, he can at least get 15 minutes per game and inject a little defense into our line-ups. I mean the guy can still play. He his providing excellent value in the minutes he does currently play, and his PER36 numbers are better than most on our team. 14.4 points/10 rebounds/ 3.5 assists/ 3 blocks/ 1 steal. Thats GREAT production. If he turns into a headcase, eh... fine, he is an expiring.
Stephenson was a great defensive talent, who can forget his battles with Lebron, where he did a fantastic job guarding him. I'd take that coming off the bench for a year over what we are currently getting from Morris not even playing.
Its basically getting something out of nothing, with another draft pick as the cherry on top.
Knight/Goodwin
Booker/Goodwin/Weems
Warren/Stephenson
Tucker/Mirza/Leuer
Chandler/Len/Smith
(I'd also slot Smith in for PF minutes above Mirza as well. Mirza is pretty much just a 3 point specialist and thats it. He pretty much sucks at every other aspect of the game)

BOOM.
Boston goes and gets it's 'star', the Suns dump Kieff finally and get back three solid rotation pieces, while the Rockets land some nice frontcourt depth.
BOS would include a couple of 1st rounders for Houston too on second thought.

How about this trade idea: We send Knight and Kieff to Denver for Mudiay, Hickson and top5 protected 2016

You are right - I said trade for whatever. With Smith on a one year deal - maybe Stephenson would be good. I don't want to take minutes from Warren or Booker though.
You are right - Suns need to do whatever to get Morris out of the damn building.

REPORT: Cavs May Be Entering Trade GamePosted By: Tomer Azarly
Posted date: January 01, 2016
The Cleveland Cavaliers have bullied their way into a 21-9 record through the end of 2015, but they did lose to the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day 83-89. Brian Windhorst and Amin Elhassan spoke on a TrueHoop TV podcast and two the discussed the Cavs issues and how they handle Draymond Green, the Warriors best player, according to the Windhorst and Elhassan.
That’s when Windhorst brought up a ‘realistic player the Cavs could get to defend Green.’ That player is Suns’ forward Markieff Morris.
Jared Mueller of King James Gospel listed some valuable and excellent points as to why the Cavs could grab Morris from the Suns.
-Morris is a talented big man.
-He is readily available due to his attitude issues.
-LeBron James helped J.R. Smith play team basketball and defense, he can control Markieff.
-The Cavs don’t have a backup power forward.
—Tristan Thompson is a center (now starting) as is Anderson Varejao.
—James Jones isn’t really a big man, though he can stretch the floor.
-Morris is on a reasonable contract for the next couple of years.
-The Cavs have very few ways to add talent over the next few years.
-The Cavs have the biggest Traded Player Exception (TPE) in the NBA.
As Mueller states in his piece, Morris has been suspended twice by the Suns, once for silly on-court behavior and the second time for throwing a towel at his coach, and he’s been benched for a few games. With his trade value being so low, the Suns should jump at the opportunity to trade him to a team that wants him and will also have the cap room to take him in.
It is a questionable player to choose, to say the least. Morris, according to Windhorst, provides the speed to keep up with Draymond Green defensively that Kevin Love doesn’t have while also providing an offensive punch that can hit the outside jumper that Tristan Thompson cannot. Morris is averaging just 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in just 23 minutes per game after averaging career highs last year with 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
Along with the trade exception created from the Brendan Haywood trade, the Cavs could throw in a first-round pick in 2018 (which they likely will not want due to the fact that they’ll have to guarantee that player’s contract when drafted). It doesn’t seem like the Cavs will be willing to part with Euroleague sensation Cedi Osman, who will join the Cavs in a couple of years.
Stay tuned to see if the Cavs make a move for Morris.

It seems Gar Forman is doing is due diligence by keeping in contact with the dysfunctional Sacramento Kings, but neither team seems satisfied with the offers that’s on the table. The Bulls are seeking a ‘talented’ wing player, and it seems they’re seeking players of the same caliber as P.J. Tucker from the Phoenix Suns. With the emergence of T.J. Warren, the Suns are looking to shift Tucker before the deadline.
http://www.bullstimes.com/bulls-are-involved-in-trade-rumors-with-suns-sixers-and-kings/I dont like a straight up Gibson for Tucker trade. I think Tucker could be combined with Chandler or Morris in a bigger trade that will net us something much more valuable than Taj.
Taj Gibson said that he has days in which his ankle is "raw" and "painful."
Gibson had ankle surgery back in June, but the doctor who performed the surgery checks in on Gibson occasionally and said that the ankle "is a lot stronger." Gibson also said that his lateral movement has improved and that he is starting to feel faster. While he may not be 100 percent, Gibson is playing heavy minutes in the absence of Joakim Noah (shoulder) and doesn't appear to be in danger of missing any time.
Seems like he is still having issues with his surgery repaired ankle.

Kieff while a talented player is a negative to this team at the moment. Getting a 1st for him is good enough IMO. So, where do I sign?

I'd rather do the Jones/Brewer deal if it will be on the table, but I'd be ok with that rather than keep him.

I want no part in Morris to Cleveland.
So after all the crap we went through, we send him to a winning situation on a winning team? HELL NO! Send him back home to Philly.

I saw that and thought, "That'll get a hell no from Denver." This board has such reasonable trade expectations.

I understand the concept of punishing him. But also Suns should also just part with him and get any positive assets just to allow the Suns to heal ASAP.

If Jan. 15th passes and Morris is not traded then the concept of a buy out increases. We still have until the trade deadline to move him but at some point we have to cut our loses.
Another thing that could drive a buy out.......Markieff doubles down on his actions that force the hand of the front office. So far Kieff is saying the right things about playing for his team mates and helping the team win. However if he begins to sense that there is no trade on the horizon he could begin to escalate his misbehavior, forcing the hand of the Suns and leading to a buy out.
For now a buyout is a low probability, but this option could escalate quickly if Markieff pushes the teams boundaries and tests their patience.
