Most underrated or forgotten Suns highlights

Thread dedicated to amazing Suns plays that history has forgotten about somehow. The ones that never quite seem to squeeze in a place between the Tom Chambers dunk over Mark Jackson and the KJ dunk on the dream.

Let me get the ball rolling:

I remember watching this game live. 4 OT, 140-139, victory over Portland. Rex Chapman's insane three pointer to extend the game into a 3rd OT.

^^not forgotten but definitely underrated.

On an unrelated note, I was asked by a Suns ticket sales rep to recall one of my favorite Suns moments. I brought this shot up...crickets. Had no idea what I was talking about lol. Made me sad, I mean if you're gonna try to appeal to the fan in me to get me to buy at least get into a topic you can contribute a little bit to lol.

JRich's 3 vs Lakers, 2010 playoffs Game 5. If only we didn't lose at the buzzer, that would have been one of the best clutch shots. Probably the happiest I've ever been in my life... Oh and Tim Thomas 3 vs Lakers game 6 too. If only we had a healthy Amare...

There's always IFS when you're talking about Phoenix Suns basketball.

Just speculating, but I imagine that a lot of the sales reps are kids right out of college. Most of them were toddlers in the mid 90s lol

This is a long one, but it is important because the Suns ended Showtime and Pat Riley's tenure as coach. These his last few moments with the Lakers.

Yeah, I was gong to say that that sales representative probably started watching the Suns during the Nash/D'Antoni era. His understanding of Suns' history prior to that time probably consists of, "Charles Barkley! 1993! Duuuude!"

Of course, what I just wrote pretty much applies to the media in general, including media members who are old enough to know or relay much more.

I LOVED that Diaw to Marion pick and alley-oop.

Such a simple play and they executed it countless times...

Maybe not really a "suns highlight", but still. I realize the dunk itself wasn't amazing but the whole sequence was totally underrated and seems forgotten.

I was at this game. It was one of the most hostile Suns crowds I was ever in. It was Kobe's first game back after his sexual assault allegations and the crowd was going insane. There were many Lakers fans and as much arguing among fans as I can remember at a Suns game. I will never forget these two ladies sitting right near me screaming for the Lakers and cursing and flipping off the crowd. They were crazy. It was nuts.

Btw, the Suns lose the game at the end but it was so exciting when they came back and almost won. Penny had a really good game too but Gugliotta was so awful. He really should not have even been playing anymore.

Under rated, they had it as the 14th best dunk.. easily should be top 5

... nice. I had never forgotten this performance, but I had not seen the highlights since the night that they occurred, a little over fifteen years ago. Delk had played for the Kings the previous year, and in his two games back in Sacramento during the '00-'01 regular season, he averaged 37.0 points on .636 (28-44) field goal shooting plus 6.0 rebounds.

What is unfortunate is that the Suns still lost that game, and what is ironic by today's standards is that Delk scored those 53 points while shooting 0-1 on threes.
