Re: Around the NBA
So I'm checking the Philly box score, and look at Embiid's great #s, then look down to the next line and see 15 pts, 13 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and am thinking "man, Simmons is killing it" before I realize it wasn't Simmons' line, it was TJ McConnell's!
It's amazing this AZ guard who played 4 years and was scrappy and a solid college player but not great by any means is doing this, as basically a minimum guy, and we have a guy in Ulis who played 2 years, was DPOY in the SEC and had one of the best ast/to ratios in the country, if not THE BEST, and the guy only gets 2 assists the other night.
What the hell is going on?

Having teammates who can shot surely helps a bit.

Re: Around the NBA
Lets hope this Giannis' thing doesnt lead to firing Kidd.
It'd be a massive blow to our MIL pick.

Isn't that the truth. We want the Bucks to keep Kidd until we make that pick.

Memphis just fired Fizdale https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/248162/Grizzlies-Fire-David-Fizdale
What did they expect with this roster especially with Conley being out? It can't just have been the Gasol benching in the 4th last game...Are they ultimately tearing it down now and start rebuilding? That'd be horrible for our already diminished odds at a top 5 pick...

He does well with Jeff Green. Once got Ray Allen for him too.

Re: Around the NBA
I saw a stat about Boogie Cousins that says he is averaging more points than Kevin Durant, more assists than Kyrie Irving, more rebounds than Anthony Davis, more blocks than Andre Drummond, more steals than Avery Bradley. This dude is a monster. If they were a top 3 team in the West he'd be No 1 in MVP voting IMO.

Sacramento beat GSW without Curry and Durant.
Shows every team is 2 players away.

It's top 8 protected. So what will Memphis do? Try to be good or try to be terrible? I hope it's the 1st option.

Re: Around the NBA
A bit off topic but I found out the uncle of Fred Mason Jr actually works for the same company I do.
Actually I didn't even know anything about him since he was a 2nd round pick but looks like he might be a decent pick given where he was drafted.

It'll be unprotected in 2021, so they' need to figure this out pretty quickly.

They just need to not finish bottom 8. I don't think they will, and then it will convey this year and be done with. Of course if they finish bottom 8 they get a good player to add to Gasol and Conley.

He's also probably averaging more turnovers than Josh Jackson.
