How does Doncic with 27pt 8reb 5ast in a losing effort, win player of the match when Saric racks up 25pt 13reb 8ast in a winning team?

Perhaps it was because he shot incredibly well from the field and every time he shot it was a big shot to regain the lead after falling behind in the second half. Otherwise, Idk

Not watching the game, only boxscore, and Dragan is out with 5 PF before the end of third quarter. Against Ukraine?? Not sure what's happening. He was 7/5/2 before leaving the court.

He's just trying to sabotage his value so we trade Chriss instead.

Did 2 fouls to stop a transition. One foul I did not see and 2 times he fouled in the post.
Anyways he was not playing bad at all in the time he spent on the court. The team looked much better with him on the court.

Bender always seems to post a (+) every time he's on the floor regardless of his numbers. It's part of the reason I want to keep him so much.

I think that we have lowered the expectations for Bender so much to the point that it is getting even ridiculous.

Fouled out in 7 minutes in the last game against Slovenia.
Fouled out in 15 minutes today against Ukraine.

I do not care his +/-....that is terrible. Period.

Agree. Doncic is having 20+ point games, Bender can't stay 20 mins on the floor. Age is obviously not the issue.

I don't want to be an a**hole and I do want Bender to succeed, but something tells me he's a "failure in progress".

I watched the game before he fouled out. He was the best player on the floor while he was in there, though that's not saying much, and he certainly wasn't dominant. He shot the three well and with confidence. Doesn't play with enough energy, puts his head down too often. Comfortable in the post (though he missed his single attempt in this game). I do think he will be more effective when he adds some bulk.

We all promised to be patient when we drafted him, didn't we? We should follow through on that. If y'all are comparing him to Luka Donkic, you'll be disappointed in any case. That kid's in an entirely different tier as a prospect.

Me too,at least offensively. He has snown nothing on offense so far.

He looks competent defensively at this level though. He is contesting, altering and blocking shots. He defends the pnr well. He is correcting othe players mistakes.
Half of his fouls were him trying to stop transitions after his teammates mistakes.Another thing is that he is playing C which is not his natural position and he needs to battle with much stronger men. That is how the other half of his fouls came to be.

Comparing Bender to Doncic is beyond unfair. Doncic is considered the greatest European prospect EVER. There are people who think he is the best prospect since Lebron. Bender isn't supposed to be better than him. Not now, probably not ever. Outside of Booker I'm not sure there is a single player on this team I wouldn't trade for Doncic. That includes Jackson.

His numbers were good today. 3/6 with 1 three, 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in 15 minutes (14/10/4 per 30). But yes, teams always play better when he is on the floor. He just needs to learn to stay on it.
