I also thought of posing the question, Is Alex a BWS?

What is BWS?

I think it is STILL early to determine if he is bust or not. I'd wait 2 more years.

I don't think he is a bust, I just don't think he will ever be a legit star/difference maker. He does not bring major impact on a game when he is in. He will never be a consistent force that changes games.

I'll give him this year, but if I'd have to pick one way or the other, I'd say yes. Though he's not as big a bust as Bennett. As for the guys taken after him, I'd rather have:

Greek Freak
Gobert
McCollum
Noel
Dieng
Adams
Schroder

and maybe

KCP
Crabbe
Possibly Olynyk since he shoots 40% from 3, but at this point we wouldn't need him, which I guess you could say for the 2 guards, but at the time, those guys above in the first place ended up better or far better, at least so far, and I have a hard time believing he will pass any of the guys on that first list.

I don't think he fits any of these. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=BWS
Especially #7, but I guess most of them.

I guess he could mean #2 though. Or #3 with the bricks. Or actually #4 as well.

If I had to lean one way, I'd say yes. I want to give him this year though. I want to see what he can do as our 4th-5th option on offense and not our 2nd-3rd option. He should be putting up 48% this year, even with him shooting 3 jumpers per game. He should be getting a lot of dump off passes from Bledsoe/Booker/Warren driving. If he struggles this year then I'm prepared to cut our losses.

I still believe in Len. He's only played 3 years and not much the first two because of injuries. His third year when he had lots of time to play, he was saddled with a terrible team and no consistent offense or defense surrounding him. He moves well, he tries, and I think this will be a good year for him. He's a pretty good rebounder and good free throw shooter and has a jumpshot. He just needs to work a little bit on his defense and probably shouldn't try too many post moves. Big guys take awhile to develop. He's not as good as Gobert or Adams but he's still better than most of the centers we've had in the past. I haven't given up on him yet.

I loved Gobert in the draft and was shocked how far he fell... that being said 99% of mocks had Len higher, so theres that.

Hoping for solid things from Len this year.

He's not a complete bust. Just very underwhelming if you ask me.

It's going to sound like a cop-out, but yeah, I'm going to let Alex answer that question with his play this season. If he doesn't give us a strong reason to believe in him, then I'd place him on top of the bust pile and start looking again for our man in the middle.

I think he is average starting center. For 5th pick that may be little disappointing but players drafted before him aren't doing much better. That was very strange draft and I can't even blame McD for his mediocre result.

It's too early to determine if Len is a bust or not. We are not talking about Joe Alexander here, Len has shown enough to be considered a rotation player in the NBA for a lot of years already. He is not that far away from being a good and solid frontcourt player who can play starting minutes if needed.

I am disappointed that Len isn't an All Star talent, I preferred Noel over him in the draft....but he can yet be a decent starting C in the NBA if he improves a few things in his game. He is only 23 years old.

He has shown some great rebounding games and even passing the ball in a few games last year, but his fg% is just unbelievably bad for a 7 footer.

When Jared Dudley said he would be one of the guys that would surprise us the most I didn't know at the time that he meant surprisingly bad.

According to his teammates he does look good in practice and is getting better it's just a shame he cant bring that to the court. Dude has everything to become a good player but it just seems like he doesn't understand basketball.

He's decent. I don't know. Reminds me of ROLO.

Drafting a euro prospect with zero feel for the game is almost unprecedent
In my book, he's a clear bust

Now I don't wanna call anyone here a liar..but i think some people have a selective memory here..Golbert at 5?? really. I remember thinking Oladipo or Bennet at 5. On the actual draft..I was super pissed we didn't take Noel or McLemore. In a weak draft, injured in his first year, showing glimpses of being a great player and being a big man, in my books he has two more seasons to prove himself.

Oh yeah, everyone was pissed we didn't take Noel or McLemore. I'm just saying a really savvy drafter smarter than all of us may have seen Gobert's potential. Obviously many teams and scouts didn't.

Hindsight, etc.
Depends on your definition of bust but he can be a good backup center in this league.
