Rookie Class Watch

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Thu Nov 3, 2016 2:12 pm

I figured since we have three of them, it would be nice to see how they compare to other rookies (if ours ever get to play). Here is a good place to follow the statistical leaders and overall stats of all rookies.

Too bad Embiid has some SERIOUS red flags for his career.

4 threes, look at his footwork in the post, the chase down block on lebron

Interesting that two rookies are firmly in the rotation in likely fairly high seeded playoff teams Toronto (Poeltl 16 mpg, Siakam 18 mpg), OKC (Sabonis 18 mpg, Christon 16 mpg).

Quite a few rookies getting a lot of playoff time this year...here is mpg descending order. http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/stats/2017/Averages/All/minutes/All/desc/1/Regular_Season?rookies=

Embiid's looked most impressive to me out of all rookies. He has HOF talent if he can stay healthy.

A shame that Hinkie was let go before his plan finally came to fruition. I don't trust Colangelo to not screw up what Philly has going for them.

I'd like to see a Sophomore Watch too to see how Booker is doing amongst his class.

Yet another monster game, so smooth facing up and doesn't even hesitate beyond the arc, he will give KAT a run for his money for years to come and is a better rim protector. Can't wait for hte minutes restriction to come off

Probably a good thing because I had Sergio Rodriguez in fantasy for awhile, who's been starting for them and he would go like 1-14 when he shot a lot. They can't shoot. It seems he shoots more than TJ McConnell who gets quite a few PG minutes. He could work well with Simmons when he gets back though since Simmons probably shouldn't shoot much. If they just play with Simmons at point, Embiid, and three floor spreaders they could possibly be scary. Saric looking pretty good.

Jamal Murray is gonna be so nice eventually. I see a lot of Steph Curry in him. If he can learn to playmake a little bit and improve his passing then who knows.

As draft prospects, I found him and Booker very similar even though Booker has better size while Murray has better quickness and ball handling.

No, I noticed two recent games where Tyus Jones played twice the minutes and had much better numbers.

Jamal Murray playing some really good ball lately.

Its interesting how the predraft narratives of guys being nba ready or not play out. Of the 3 guards him, dunn, and buddy the other two were supposed to be the nba ready guys but it sure looks like hes the most ready of the 3.

I kinda predicted Dunn will struggle and that his projectory is more Tony Wroten than John Wall, contrary to popular belief. Still I thought Buddy will be one of the most readier prospects.
