Bledsoe for Favors and #24

Hello Suns board,

I posted this on the trade board and the jazz board. But wanted to measure some more level of interest from you guys.

I'm assuming the suns draft a G (BPA) at #4.

Jazz fans seem to think it's a fair deal, while I've seen some suns fans really discount Favors.

A similar deal just happened where Ibaka was/is an expiring (like Favors) and was traded for Ross and a late first.

I think the gap between favors and Bledsoe is a lot closer. So to me, the trade is definitely fair value wise: favors and a late first for Bledsoe. It all depends on how the suns medical staff views favors.

To me the suns need more help in the front court. Only Chriss is worth anything at this point. Chandler is old, Len is about to leave and Bender hasn't shown much. Bender is still young though. But i don't think he is ready to start.

If the top 3 in the draft is Fultz, Ball and Jackson; it comes down to fox, Tatum, monk, smith and maybe Ntilikina or Isaac IMO.

Nbadraft.net currently has suns mocked to Fox.

Say the suns go BPA and it's one of the G's then they suddenly have a log jam. They currently have Bledsoe, knight, Ulis and booker already. Makes sense for them to clear the log jam and get some talent at the PF/C spot. I think knight will be too hard to trade as his level of play has really fallen + his current contract.

Again, the trade would be prefaced with a G being drafted at #4.

What do you guys think and do you think there's another tradable PF/C target that makes sense?

But...we drafted 2 power forwards last year.

Right I know. But I think Len gets over paid this offseason. Suns don't match because like you said, they just drafted two bigs.

Also, Chandler is old and doesn't fit your timeline at all.

A rotation of Chris's, Bender and favors is much more appealing. Plus you clear playing time for your Gs

Favors is done. His best days are behind him. The Suns won't gamble with Favors. No thank you.

I view Favors as a Center so the fact the suns have two young PF's doesn't factor in for me. My concern is Favors knee; heck I'm more concerned with his knee than Bledsoes. Now if the Suns were completely convinced that Favors knee problems are behind him and they love a PG at 4 then sure this is the type of deal that could make some sense but those are two pretty big IF's.

Favors at center does nothing for me either. Basically I would never do this trade, it's massively undervaluing Bledsoe.

Right, it all comes down to how you view both of their injury histories.

Favors knee was a bone bruise. NOT a tear or anything worse. Those typically need a full offseason to heal. Favors was forced to play hurt, especially in the playoffs.

A healthy favors is good for 16-8-1.5 blocks. And he is only 25, still room to grow.

I actually think this is a fair deal and don't have any problem with Favors. But the franchise and FO needs some continuity and Bledsoe has put forth a lot of effort to help build the fan base and the team. Since we're not in the top 2, Bledsoe will almost certainly stay, barring a huge offer. Sry!

Yea I agree Bledsoe has been there for awhile. Honestly, suns should just draft Tatum/Jackson but who knows what their board looks like

The value would be fair if their contracts had the same lenght. They don't

I struggle to really gauge what Bledsoes trade value is and have a feeling it might be lower than people think. There are the obvious injury concerns and the fact he will want to get paid in two years but what really complicates trading him is the glut of PG's in the NBA right now. There are a ton of good teams who already have an established PG and after this draft there will be plenty of teams with young PG's who they won't want Bledsoe blocking. When you go team by team there just aren't a ton of realistic Bledsoe destinations. That's why unless they are completely in love with one of the PG's at 4 I would draft a forward. Now if they do draft a PG I'm in the camp that you absolutely trade Bledsoe for what you can get this summer even if you have to take 75 cents on the dollar for him. It would be foolish to bring in a young PG and not hand the keys over to him right away plus you would have the 'when are they going to trade bledsoe' crap hanging over this team for the next year. I want none of that nonsense.

If we fell in love with a prospect at 8-9 (Knicks/Mavs) I could see us trading Bledsoe and the 2019 Miami pick for their pick.

Not a bad offer...but no, thanks.

#24 is not a big deal because we have already #32 and #54. We are not gonna draft so many rookies.

I like Favors, but he needs to show that he is really healthy.

What about Knight + #32 for Favors?

Didn't know you guys had #32 and #54 already. You could try to package #24 with them to move up into the teens?

I haven't followed knight that closely. What are your honest opinions? I only noticed he fell out of the rotation. Was this simply because of Bledsoe and Ulis? Or has his play declined that much?

From a jazz perspective, I was trying to see how we can get a starting PG without overpaying Hill. I think I would trade favors straight up for knight. But not include any picks

Favors is more valuable than Knight by a lot.

In that case, knight and #32 for Favors could work. But then the jazz have #24, 30 and 32. If I were them, I'd do the trade if we could somehow make a package to move up into the teens.

I do not like Knight. Inefficient scorer and he is a high usage player that does not involve teammates. Bad defender.

He is fast and he has a good motor but IMO he is not good enough to be an starter in this league. Probabaly on another team he can be a useful rotation player, he has lost confidence.

I want him out of the team ASAP.
Hopefully McD finds a decent trade and he can play better on his new team.

It's crazy to think that Favors has already been in the league for 7 years now. I think the potential tag has worn off and he is what he is.

With that being said, idk. I'm not that high on Fox or DSJ. If we were to trade Bledsoe, I'd rather approach the Lakers with some kind of trade to get Russell from them, which might be easier with the expectation that they are drafting Ball, but also could be difficult if Russell is being used in a trade to help secure an star player like PG-13.

If we could say S&T Len, ship him to the Lakers for Russell, then trade Bledsoe for Favors/#24, all while keeping our pick, I would be ok. But trading Bledsoe and being somewhat forced to take Fox in the draft with our pick.....eh....I'm not really digging that.
