He probably is not gonna be on the final roster, but I think we need a thread to talk about him.

Picked at #54, McDonough thinks that he can really shoot the ball.

“He was one of the best shooters in this draft,” GM Ryan McDonough said. “He had a very decorated career at [Valparaiso]. Frankly, throughout the college season we had him ranked a lot higher than the mid-fifties.”

He has a shot at the roster if he improves defense. He seems slow footed and doesnt have the best measurements, so he must have great awareness on where to be and when. Channing Frye thrived here being a great shooter and an ok defender. Good Luck Alec Br..I mean, Peters!

Alec Peters, PF, Valparaiso
I put Peters in the first round of my final mock draft, though I believe he'll likely end up in the second round. Peters is not considered an "NBA athlete." What he is is one of the most reliable shooters in this entire draft. Ignore Peters' 36.3 percent shooting from three last season, when he was injured and when Horizon League teams loaded up on him. Instead look at his previous two seasons: 46.6 percent and 44 percent from 3-point range. He has deep NBA range. And he is a creative scorer inside the 3-point line as well. Peters won't be a star, but he can become a productive NBA player for a long time.

I wonder if he'll be on the 15 man roster of if they would be able to sneak him onto one of the new split g league contracts. Either way i assume he'll spend most of next year up in Flagstaff.

DraftExpress had him at 31. Seems like he could be a decent off the bench stretch 4. This quote from DX gives me some hope he'll make the roster and won't be a total dud:

"On the bright side, he does play well within team defensive principles, and is undoubtedly a competitor. He works hard, knows where to be on the court, rotates well, and has a good nose for the ball to help him be first to loose balls and rebounds that fall below the rim. His average athleticism may prevent him from being a lockdown defender, but he should be able to pick up team concepts quickly and find ways to contribute on that side of the court with his competitiveness, activity level and solid IQ." - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Alec-Peters-77931/ ©DraftExpress

I like this pick a lot. Stretch 4's are everything in this league now. If he provides 10-15 minutes off the bench for 7-8 years for us on the cheap that would be amazing

He's a bettwe 3pt shooter than Kevin Love and probably equal or even slightly better than Ryan Anderson.

Give him minutes and develop him... He is a gun shooter.

Would be surprised if he was on the team in two years.

His defense is bad nut his release is so quick and he has good feel for the game and an elite shooter...he will be on an NBA team assuming he is healthy

I guess he will be good to have when your team has the last possession and is down by 3.

Frye's defense was terrible too I look at this guy like he will be in the same boat. 3&noD And I don't really know anything about him except for videos and articles ive seen...But given just that small video of him getting drafted I think he will do everything in his power to stick in the league. If he has to work on defense I feel like he will improve himself. I'd like to see him stick on the roster...
