Us, being the projected worst team in the toughest conference, of course end up with the toughest schedule.

Really? You think the Suns ranking in this thing as having the toughest schedule is due to the Suns being a very poor team? If true, I don't get the value...then again, I don't even understand how assigning SOS before the season would work...doesn't everybody in the West/East have to play (pretty much) the same schedule as every other team?

EDIT: I guess it makes sense that Phoenix's and Golden State's SOS ratings get oppo ratings 'cuz the Suns have to play the Dubs 4 times rather than getting to beat-up Phoenix, and GSW gets PHX 4 times instead of battling themselves....In the end, a pretty much pointless numbers display.

Yes, in the NBA it's always inversely related...if you didn't play your own conference more, it would be inversely related to projected records. There is a chance, for example, that Sacramento might be projected to finish worse than us, but we may play the Warriors four times whereas they play them 3, and we play the Lakers 4 times, and they play them 3, which would slightly alter it.

In the NFL for example, it is completely different due to previous year division ranking matches you up with a couple tougher teams than the rest of the teams in your division. On top of that, each division rotates which division in they play all the teams in that division once in their own conference and once for the division in the other conference which can have a big impact.

In baseball, you play your division SO much more that the strength of your division will give you the toughest schedule, though within the division, it should still be inversely related to projections.

Read on Twitter

All teams play the opposite conference teams twice, and teams in their own conference 4 times save for 4 (non-divisional) teams.

Below are all the differences in the Clippers schedule from Suns. #18 toughest versus #1 toughest according to the chart above-

-Suns play Spurs one more time (@PHX) than the Clippers do
-Clippers play Pelicans one more time (@NO) than the Suns do

Road game at New Orleans vs. home game Spurs?

Suns "3 game teams"-

Once at Oklahoma City
Twice at Dallas
Twice at Denver
Once at New Orleans

Clips "3 game teams"-

Twice at Oklahoma City
Once at Dallas
Once at Denver
Twice at San Antonio

Choose your 1-2 home court disadvantage? At Dallas/Denver or OKC/San Antonio?

Next draft just become much more interesting.

Nets getting just 2 national TV games after all the hype when they went to Brooklyn is just sad. What a disaster of a franchise.

Our first 20 games are a dream start.

13-7 home v away games
12-8 opponents projected under .500

I think we could get 8-10 wins which would throw up a curveball for the season narrative.

Probably means we will appear better than we might be based on record, maybe hovering around 500 so when our schedule gets significantly tougher as the season goes on, and we start losing more, people will become outraged at players/coaches, etc

I then looked at the following 62 games and it's a horror movie, barely a good week anywhere.

Just got an email about pre-sale tickets. Was wondering if the posters here (outside of the Aussie guys back in 2009?) ever try to catch a Suns game together as a group. And it would be cool if we got a big discount.

I'll catch a few around Dec/Jan... a few others on the road, likely Charlotte/Atlanta/New Orleans....

Hope to be in Phoenix in Oct too. I'll buy the first round.

Jeesus... was it 2009???

I'm planning on going to a lot of our home games, hopefully I can keep abusing that college pass thing this year. Really hope I can make it to opening night.

I'll definitely go when they play @ DAL 12/18.

I'm salty they scheduled the last game of the year here too. Wish it was earlier because that game is going to be all backups/tanking, though tickets will be super cheap possibly so that's good.

I'll try to go when they play @ HOU 1/28/18.
