+3 Warren - Nice game scoring and doing everything else with better defense..of course missed free throw, but had he not gotten offensive rebound no one would care about that...overall still great game
+2 Bender - Good defense and always helped cut the deficit when in the game
+1 Booker - Nice game overall but still needs to cut down on turnovers..6 way too many..and he seemed to get rattled when he hurt his tailbone and lose his focus a bit.

Cactus is tougher in a high scoring game

-2 Bledsoe - If Lonzo sets a record not done since LeBron against you, not good, especially when he was so easily shut down by Beverley..scored a bunch down the stretch but did nothing else
-2 Len - Too many turnovers and fouls
-2 Chandler - DPOY once? Didn't look like that was possible

+2 Booker (great game, but not a +3 due to weak 2H)

Pretty much agree with bw

+3 Bender - Loved his energy defensively and his rebounding. His +17 just shows you the kind of player he is despite putting up 3/7 only. That bad pass to Chandler at the end though...good intentions but too risky at that point.
+2 Warren - started off slow but came back to log an efficient game. Missed FT at the end wasn't a good look but it's not all on him
+1 Booker - good all-around game but those TO's need to be cleaned up. Game worst -10 puts him down a couple notches


-3 Watson - he got lucky we played against another young team but this time without a star. Our system is still lacking any structure and plays. The only props I give him is
-2 Bledsoe - how he got a -7 despite an efficient all-round scoring game tells you a lot about the player that he is. He just doesn't do much besides scoring.
-1 Chriss - despite playing the same minutes and putting up similar stats to Bender, I just don't feel like he 'gets' it. It's like the game is still too complicated for him. He picks up dumb fouls, always looks lost out there and I don't like his energy.

Notes:
JJ was a -10 but him hitting 3's is very encouraging. He needs to finish at the rim better because he's getting there almost at will but I think with an off-season of putting on more muscle and hopefully with more respect from the ref's, he should be a consistent 6-7FTA a game player.
Len kinda did very little. His rebounding was nice but 5 fouls in 21mins and 1-4 shooting shows me why we didn't shell out a new contract this past offseason.

+3 Bender his defense was excellent.
+2 James decent minutes from the bench
+1 D Book good game.. has to stop forcing on ofense.
-3 Tyson awfull performance from a previous dpoy

I think you've got to give Bender the +3 Nashty - we were clearly a better team with him on the floor.

As for the Cactus, I'm giving Watson the -3. He seems to have a really hard time reading what's working well in a game and what isn't.

Everyone else I feel could be argued as + or - 1, and I don't feel like parsing it out. I will say, though, I take no pleasure in watching Alex Len play basketball. Good, bad, it doesn't matter he just always looks like he's playing basketball for the first time in his life because someone said "You're tall, you should play basketball!"

Was at the game tonight; it was painful to lose with all the Lakers fans in the building.

+3 Booker: It is really incredible to watch Booker live-- the 70 point game has seemed to add to his mythos and the fans audibly respond to every attempt. Loved the complete stat line, thought some of the TOs were kinda flukey.
+2 TJ: I literally said to my friend I was with (who is a HUGE NBA fan but barely knew who TJ was :'( ) that "TJ only shoots weird midrange/floaters, but he makes most of them so it's chill". TJ delivered lol.
+1 Bender: God almighty those blocks. LOVING Bender's defense, thought the +17 was really telling. I was very encouraged that he was out there to finish the game; I really think he will be a Kirilenko type player who just does everything well and almost everything right. His stats might never be super flashy, but his defense and ball movement always encourage me so much about his future.

-2 Bled: Really expected him to treat the Ball matchup like Beverly; I was very disappointed. His O was good though! Just more disappointment than not.
-2 Chriss: Yo is Chriss just garbage? Something to keep an eye on lol
-2 Tyson: Not all of Ball going off was Bled's fault-- some of it was for sure Tyson. He was fine offensively though; we need to find Booker a version of Tyson for the future, those lobs are money!

Anyways, fun game, but still genuinely shocked at how bad our defense is. I get we're young but damn.

+2 Warren. What a shame that free throw, but he played a solid game. Really bad in the first quarter, but he was amazing in the second one. I think we needed to go at him more at the beginning of the second half, but Booker absorbed too much ball IMO.
+2 James. He defended pretty well and the team played good set with him on offense.
+1 Bender. He was great on defense but offensively he committed a lot of errors. I like his progression even with that.
+1 Booker. He wanted to make too much, he was great and terrible on the same game too many times that I don't know if he was positive or negative for the team. He needs to pass the ball more, it looks like he only pass it if he is gonna get an assist. Overall a decent game.

-3 Chriss. He had that easy dunk to gives us the overtime, but he was blocked. Not a surprise, he is playing like a non NBA player since Summer League, I am really bothered about him. His defense is non existant other that some highlight block.
-2 Len. Fouling, fouling, losing position, invisible on offense...hopefully it is just his ankle and he returns to his preseason's form in the next few weeks.
-1 Chandler. He was OK on offense, but defensively he was a chair.

-3 Tyson. How can this guy claim to be a leader while playing with zero effort on defense? That last play where Lonzo drove to the hoop and Tyson just stood there was insane. And how many times is Tyson going to point to other players and ask for help after not moving his feet *at all* defensively?? If only he were young, Earl would have an excuse to bench him.
-2 Jackson. Perhaps being a bit hard on the kid, but he had zero rebounds tonight and has generally failed to meet the standards he set for himself over the first two games on both ends of the court. His 3 point shooting has been his saving grace so far.

His main offensive weapon is outside shooting regardless of the percentage. Letting him drive shouldn't have been a concern. Lonzo's shooting percentages are low because people contest it. He always scored from outside when he was WIDE OPEN.

Also, it is not like he stopped him getting FREE LAYUPS.

Have to say, I'm with you on this. 80% of those who were guarding lonzo seems to be going under the (moving) screens. That's coaching since Mike James was doing it too. Could also be laziness from Bledsoe though. Not that I would've 'given' him the open lane but I'd rather gamble on his penetration over him getting comfortable at the 3. Once he's in rhythm from the arc, you wouldn't be able to guard him

You give any NBA player that much space and they can knock it down, just terrible defensive strategy but then even more puzzling is when he got into the lane unchallenged.
