Nashty, Game 4 vs Kings

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Tue Oct 24, 2017 4:33 am

NO CACTUS TONIGHT IN HONOR OF EARL WATSON AND ERIC BLEDSOE!

Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

Mike James +3
Chriss +2
Jackson +1

(Booker is also +1 but can't exceed 6 votes) :( I wish we could give 0.5 points for both.

+3 Mike James - Hard not to give it to him. He really stepped up with the go-ahead layup while contributing on offense efficiently and moving the ball very well. Bledsoe is undoubtedly more talented than James but James plays in a way which benefits other players.

+2 Chriss - He really made a statement with those blocks, rebounds and efficient scoring. He was doing it from everywhere. Still committed some silly fouls although a few probably shouldn't have been called against him.

+1 Triano - The players should take the majority of the praise for getting this win but I gave Triano a +1 because I really liked his rotation. Every player got the minutes I felt they deserved. He held players accountable for making mistakes but also rewarded them by keeping them in the game when they did well.

Honorable mention:
JJ - finally came through with a decent rebounding game, efficient scoring, nice passes and also solid defense. I also like seeing him off the bench.

Booker - got a ton of open shots just from team ball movement and these are the kind of shots he should be taking. He kept iso possessions to a minimum and moved the ball when he was handling the rock. To me this is Booker's ideal game.

Wish I could give out more. Very happy with the effort level and the passing. Jackson looked great, Dragan played great defense, Ulis looked good. I'd be very happy with the rest of the season if we played with that high intensity even though we'll still lose a bunch of games.

+3 Chriss

-1 Warren. Decent on defense, but his offense is looking dangerously bad
