Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

+2 Jackson - Great game...would have been +3 with fewer turnovers
+2 Len - Solid double double with a couple of blocks...got to the line a lot as well
+2 Warren - Solid shooting without turnovers as well but need to be a little more active elsewhere...usually more active on glass

-3 Booker - looked like he didn't come to play - I know the threw a lot at him but he's got to get used to that. Poor shooting
-2 Daniels - here to shoot 3s. Tonight only missed 3s
-1 Chriss - lost on some defense out there

Overall I thought a lot of the players looked fairly decent and some good despite the results. Obviously our defense hurts and they were hot shooting...probably in part because of our D but they have been the 2nd ranked 3 pt shooting team in the league as well. They are well coached and have a rising star in Gordon....gotta remember it took him about 4 years to look like this. Simmons a solid player too after playing under Pop a couple years. Fournier a crafty vet as well. And Vucevic has been a monster this year.

The Magic looked very well coached.

CACTAI

I would have 0 cactai to give out if the suns talent level combined with good effort would match to what is presented to us on the court. But it does not.

"The time has come
A fact's a fact
Cactai belongs to them
Let's give it out"

-1 Grima wormtongue (WATSON) for having a say in drafting Chriss, also for all of his kindergarden antics . This yoga/meditation stuff for professional athlete is a more like of a handicap, than a benefit, "there is more to life than basketball" is not what a rookie needs to hear, that is good for a over the hill vet accepting a lesser role, also about making you happy over what you have not what you might have is a small hindrance to ones drive. I am sorry but good professional athlete does not equal a perfect person at 20 years of age with a good work-life balance and a Yoda like attitude to everything. It is a handicap. Doing anti-yoga might be productive.

-2 Ulis, if he does not have a 3 point shot soon he is not going to belong, at least not as a backup.
Didnt we learn from Dragic brother or Morris brother debacle. Corruption does not lead anywhere in the NBA. Let me ask you suns organisation, did we get those coveted bonus points with those two after all is said and done? Nice for Sarver for still doing these corrupt choices. Business as usual for him i guess. Shows probably what kind a pseudo successful business man he really is.

If you wanted a point guard, it not like there was none left, next point guard taken at 36 was just this long decorated college player, you know a good defender and a good 3 point shooter. Considered by most the safe pick. But no we had to take this incredible risky player who you know is going to struggle with NBA length and strength, with his ceiling capped at backup PG. What if he sucks but just not enough for it to be really clear to him or to a certain fellow soldier and he is really really sour over playing time effecting others around him, or maybe you play him to appease this great player you have all the while this is costing you wins which in turn does not appease this great player you have. Oh what a great risk to take.

-3 Grima wormbody(Chriss) tongue has been banished, time to turn our attention to his body. He is like that super whiny dude at your work with awful body language whenever he has to do something and for a nice twist -> you get judged by his work . I´m in #cutchriss corner -> Watson: the gift that keeps on punishing.

1 Minute into a game and this is his effort. 0 passion for the game. "There is more to life than chasing this guy!"

Bookers face after that play.

I wonder why someone would have a little hard time putting out 100% effort when you have that happening 1 minute into the game.

Chriss played a bad game, but this was a bad example. He lost one of his shoes in the offensive play, that is why he could not run faster.

+2 Jackson. He was terrific in the first half but he was wild in the second and made a lot of mistakes out there.
He needs to run the sets better, I have seen him breaking plays to make his own decision.
Overall a positive game, hopefully he builds on that.

+1 Warren. He was a little bit passive and did not help on the boards enough, but other than that the guy made his job.
He needs to be more agressive on offense, and not shoot threes for a good period of time please.

+1 Len. He was not a factor at all, and he put numbers on garbage time, but he was at least decent.
He can not defend in the perimeter at all, Vucevic made a lot of shots from distance.

-3 Booker. He was really bad on both sides. He could not defend some simple curls by Fournier and he was late on rotations...hard to watch.
One of his worst games ever.

-1 Chriss. I have lost all my confidence in him. He does not know how to play the game, not progression.

-1 Ulis. Another bad game, he has regressed.

-1 Daniels. He is useless if he does not nail a three.

Thanks ! The last nail in the coffin has been pulled out. After it had played out, I claimed to myself - I´m done with him .
