I don't think Bender makes it, he's not particuarly exciting to watch from a general standpoint and he's not really lighting it up either. I also think with Chriss having made the team last year and not having a great seasons (inconsistent and injuries), I don't think he'll get the nod.
I do think JJ has a case though. He's athletic, exciting and he's probably don't just enough to earn the nod

If they do USA vs World again, they may be more likely to take Bender because if you look at the World roster from last year in that link above, most of those guys won't be playing. I guess Bogdanovic and Ntilikina for rookies at least. The Kings have a bunch of eligible people...Bogdan, Hield, Fox, Jackson, etc.

Jackson is a lock I think.
Not sure about Bender or Chriss.

Not a big surprise here, a good number of rookies and second year players are really good this season.

Wow, I wonder what all of our reactions would have been if we heard Josh Jackson would not be in the Rising Stars Challenge right after we drafted him.
I mean he obviously probably doesn't deserve it based on any metric, unless it's one of those random metrics by Sidery or Hanson where it's like the last 5 minutes of third quarters of the last 7 games or something.

Really disappointing news considering the amount of eligible players we have.

It's a real gut check for the Timeline imo

Hopefully it lights more of a fire for Jackson, and it would be nice if it did for Bender.

I dont think Dragan cares about it, but Josh will definitely play with another chip on his shoulder.

I never would have thought Jackson wouldn't be part of this coming into the season.

I would not trade Jackson for Tatum straight up. He is a better player than Tatum in January. So, to me all this means is that Jackson took a little longer to get going. We expected that. He also doesn’t have a pg.

Booker is fine, Jackson is doing fine, TJ Iis excellent. All it speaks to is the Chriss and Bender.
Just a note. When teams have drafted two players with top picks at the same position, they both seem to struggle. I remember Minny doing it with point guards a few years ago.

Yeah minny drafted Rubio/Flynn #5 and #6. Although the Wolves had the benefit of Rubio not coming over for a couple of years allowing them to focus their time and effort on Flynn. By the time Rubio had landed, Flynn was already a proven bust and was on his way out of the league. The fact is this, you can't have two guys playing the same position and also have the same weaknesses which prevents them from playing other positions. Right now neither guys can play the 5 or the 3 which means they are sharing the 4 spot. Essentially you have two guys who basically can't both have good game at the same time.

Does the Rising Stars work the same as the All Star game where are no positions?
Reason I ask is because looks like Lonzo Ball won’t be able to make it so does Jackson then have a good chance of replacing ‘Zo?
