I've updated my big board.

1. Ayton - I see a player similar to Towns.
2. Porter - I see a more athletic (well if healthy) version of Tatum... or Paul George, very similar measurements as PG and abilities.
3. Jackson Jr - Still see that elite combination of length and athleticism and rim protection
4. Doncic - Gordon Hayward? or a slower Ginobili.. or even a Steve Smith?
5. Young - Potential to be high scoring PG

I go back and forth bw Doncic and Ayton, but as of now:

1. Ayton
2. Doncic
3. Young
4. Porter
5. Bamba
6. Bagley
7. JJJ
8. Bridges (Nova)

Given such a good big is guaranteed to be there at 7, I'd be really tempted to go Doncic 1 and trade into 7 if possible. If the price is too high, I'd probably go Ayton 1 regardless.

I can’t see how Young is so high on these lists. Very important pic. No room for error. Of all the people, he is most likely to be neutralized by the speed, length, and athleticism of NBA defense.

I could see McD drafting Doncic 2 or 3 and then dealing him for a 5 or 6 and selecting a player of more need.... bamba, Bagley, or Porter... assuming EPay stays.

Something has to give

Or another path with an attempt to move into top ten by offering up Miami pick, a pick next yr and or Warren. ( agreeing with AtheJ )

Imagine getting both Doncic and Porter or Doncic and Bamba ... or you can always imagine not trading for Fn Knight.

It just seems like it’s going to be a wheel and MCdeal day.

Trae and Bagley are my favourite prospects right now in this draft.

I would be happy with Trae because perimeter players with that shooting, ball handling and passing ability are gonna be REALLY difficult to stop in the NBA.

Look at Curry or Kemba for example. They both are "small" but they play their game and score/facilitate easily because they can make everything on offense. Defensively they are not great, but good enough to not be a liability on that side of the court.

I think that Trae can be that type of player for us in a couple years.

1. Ayton
2. Doncic
3. Young
4. Bamba
5. Jackson
6. Porter Jr
7. Bagley

In saying that i have the 1-2 as a big gap to the 3-7...

For me at the moment:

Tier 1:

1. Ayton (I think he is the better fit for us and I think I would bank on his absurd athleticism over Doncic in terms of upside).
2. Doncic

Tier 2:
3. Porter (if his medical history checks out, he could be a fantastic fit next to Booker and Jackson. Would mean Bender and Chriss seeing minutes at the 5 though).
4. Young (his team does him no favors of late, but he's still, despite the slump, shooting 37% from 3 on regular distance NBA type 3s, which is telling).
5. Bagley
6. Bamba
7. Jackson (not nearly as high on him as some others, but he obviously deserves consideration with this group. I just like Bagley's production and motor, as well as Bamba's ultimate upside, a bit more than Jackson)

Tier 3:
8. Mikal Bridges
9. Wendell Carter (I believe he leads everyone in TPA on the season, and might be under the radar). My favorite scenario may be to trade up for Carter, even if we draft Ayton. I can really get behind a big man rotation of Ayton, Bender, Chriss, Carter, though I know if we trade up and Ayton was the pick we are probably going for Sexton or a wing like Bridges or Walker.

Tier 4:
10. Colin Sexton
11. Miles Bridges
12. Robert Williams
13. Lonnie Walker
14. Dzanan Musa (good scoring wing off the bench. Very well may be our pick if we don't make a trade. He is worth of the 15 or 16 spot here and wouldn't need a roster spot this season)

Beyond that I can't really differentiate between Knox, Zhaire Smith, Troy Brown jumble.

Sleepers:
I will say that I like Shake Milton and Gilgeous-Alexander more than most. I wouldn't be upset if we took either at 15/16, though as I mentioned I prefer the above 14 over both. Later in the draft I would like us to go the international route. If not and depending on who we take earlier, I'd look at Duval, Melton, Diallo, McCoy, Khyri Thomas (great defender at Creighton. Elite potential on that end even in the NBA imo).

Love the top 7. I’d be happy with any of them, however, I have Trae or Ayton. Those guys scream super star. Trae could bust or explode.....I put a lot of that late season failure on his team. Trae Booker and JJ would be nasty.

Ayton and Booker would be fantastic with JJ as a featured slasher.

The others scream studs, but I just think Ayton and Trae could be incredible.

Young is 9th and 11th on two draft sites I checked(not saying much, but still..). I hope McDonough trades next year's pick(top 3 protected) to come out with two players from top 7.

I like this ranking the more I think about the current draft... Rankings

If Booker was a stronger defender... Doncic and Trae Young would be really helpful, but Ayton and JJJ also lurking and looking good as long term bigs.... then Porter.

1. Ayton, purely because Suns need another potential 20ppg and it being a big man is ideal.
2. Jackson, I see many players from the past in him, bit KG, a bit of Davis... and even Horford... but being 18 and needing a few years is the issue, if Suns can sign a veteran big man then i would be OK with this pick.

3. Doncic, everything is well offensively, its the defense Im concerned with.. and Suns already have someone who plays Doncic's role... Booker.
4. Young.... if he measures 6'3 and good strength outing, I would be more confident he wont get bullied in the NBA.... People say Curry is skinny, but he's wiry strong.... his ability to launch shots is perfect today, but defensively... well its linked to his physical body.

What is  supposed to mean ? You don't want both Ayton and Young for example from this draft ? Or you think it's not realistic ? Suns have many other assets to include to make it work.

I read the one and done rule may get eliminated next year. In this case try to increase the protection.

Funny thing.....I think his workouts might change that a little..... “Oh, that’s right, he can shoot, and dribble, and pass.....what would he and Booker look like together vs UO players?”

After watching Bagley...yea I’d make him third. JJJ kinda dropped off for me....he seems a little “Quese”in the head.

Bagley Ayton and Young can be dynamic....Bamba, JJJ, Doncic, and Porter are a little more “plain” if that makes sense...

I think JJJ has bust written all over him, don't see what the hype is all about. I'd much rather have Miles Bridges before him.

Lot of people sleepin' on Knox, I think he will be a steal if picked outside the top 10.

I will probably change it but:

1. Ayton
2. Bagley
3. Young
4. Doncic
5. Bamba
6. Jackson
7. Porter (only bc of injury)

As I have been taking a closer look at Bagley, I think he is being nit-picked like Tatum was last year. He is a fantastic pf with motor that will not stop and incredible athleticism. I think he is versatile enough to play all three front court positions depending on the offense. His rebounding makes that possible. He is shooting 37% from three, which is what he is being knocked for most, but I don't see that as bad. Lots of NBA "shooters" are in that range.

If he could shoot 37% from 3 at the next level with the greater distance that would be great. He has improved a little bit but the hesitation is the small number of attempts (only 54 attempts so only made 20 all season) and the low free throw % which usually is the better indicator (62%). Josh Jackson shot 37.8% on 3s last year but was doubted because of the low attempts (though he shot 90 of them, making 34) and shot 56.6% from the line.

JJJ may not be the most exciting player in the draft, but "Quese" in the head is not what I'd say considering he is probably one of the most fundamentally strong and high iq players in the draft, particularly on the defensive end.
