How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

Nashty
+3 Booker - Decent game by his standard
+2 Chriss - B2B solid games from Chriss. Shot well and grabbed 6 rebounds in under 30mpg. Outplayed Bender the last two
+1 Shaq - I like giving the kid props. The only player playing significant minutes that finished the game with a +2 plus/minus. He's not as good passer as Ulis but as a third string PG, as long as you're not a pounding the ball or be a liability then you're doing great

Cactus
-2 Bender - Saw 3-4 instances he should've taken the shot but instead passed it back out to an unsuspecting team mate who was expecting him to shoot. Good assist night again but we don't need that, we need more aggressive scoring from him. 9th consecutive game in single digit scoring. He's gone back into his shell again
-2 JJ - Decent rebounding night but an otherwise forgettable performance. Also lead the team in TO's
-1 TJ - how can you be a -30 as the efficient second leading scorer?
-1 Payton - I expected games like these where he'd put up very pedestrian numbers and had little impact on the game.

Ditto. Jackson back to his missing shots and turning it over. I think they need a couple of days off after 3 games in 4 days. Only two games in the next week.

Alec Peters is the Pat Burke of losing - a human white flag if you will.

+3 Booker
+2 Chriss
+1 Jackson

Booker is legit. Hopefully people can take a breath on Chriss. Jackson was awful but grabbed seven boards and kept the energy up throughout the game. Rookies can't play well or even smart every game but they can play hard.
