Well, can't watch the game cause the NBA app for ROKU is juat the worst. L.P. service in the US is so bad I actually think about asking my money back.

yup

And its actually detrimental to team success a lot of times

Players need to play specific roles, play specific speed and tempo so they "fit" into the system and allow the main guys to do their stuff... you see this in ALL the good teams, and recently 76ers... if you watch them closely, their role players "get it".

Suns role players are fighting for contracts... they don't care about Suns winning long term or winning really... they want to look good so they extend their contract or they move on to their next contract.

Having a bunch of players competing for touches, contracts and minutes is DETRIMENTAL to the overall team objective of "winning" and playing "well" as a unit.

Shaq harrison has played like this even after getting his contract. He can be something if he gets a serviceable three point shot.

He's not young though. He's 24. He's got to get into the gym and shoot tons of 3s. He could be valuable. Right now could maybe provide what Marcus Smart does to some extent.

We NEED shooters though. But we also need defense. Preferably both. It's funny, we don't have anyone who can do both. The one guy closest to being able to do both effectively (Bender) is probably the most hated player on the team.

I've mentioned here on our forum that Nico is a guy we might try and trade for since I thought maybe you guys wouldn't want his salary there when re-upping Boogie...wasn't sure you wanted that option for next year picked up when your original trade went through.

Thought you might want to dump him and would do so for a 2nd or something.

Do you think that's a possibility or do you think the Pelicans will want to hang onto him?

I doubt the pelicans dump him for a second considering roster improvement options. I heard they were considering the nico trade before the Cousins injury, so he's probably at least in the plans for next season. I think there was some misinformation going on witht that option situation.

Well it looked like you were getting cap relief with an expiring but a player who could contribute by dumping Asik for a pick...looked like partially a cap clearing move for the Boogie signing...and yes I think it was going down before Boogie went down. But given that it appeared to be a cap clearing move and appeared to get held up until the option was exercised which Mirotic had the right to hold up the trade if not, thought the Pelicans would want him.

But I didn't know if a Boogie max would put them in tax territory with Nico still there. Maybe not. Our team could use a guy like him, at least until one of our PFs can really contribute or we get a new one....but starting over there in the draft will be another long process I'm not sure anyone is ready for.

Good chance we push for Aaron Gordon though...or maybe even Parker. But you gotta overpa for those guys.

Keep in mind Gayle is owner now, and is probably unlikely to make any moves that make the team worse or could be construed as penny pinching for the next couple of years. I dont think the Pels are afraid of being a tax team, and are likely to attach a pick to dump Ajinca before considering a Nico dump. I really think the Pelicans wanted some flexibility with Nico.

If Nico is moved id expect (hope) it to be for a better fitting more affordable player rather than a straight salary dump. Jeremy Lamb comes to mind, Marcus Morris, Jae Crowder make sense to me too.

Why don't you just buy FoxSportsAZ or do you watch a lot of other teams now that you live in Boston and are mostly a Celtics fan?

Just kidding about that last part.

Based on the past two Pels games I've gotta say that the Griz are in better tanking form.

So Alex is going to start shooting threes now? Great timing, sob.

He was smooth on the court too..check this out...we trade Nance for KJ in 88...so in the 88-89 season KJ (2nd year player becomes our PG) and Cotton our coach and he opens everything up...look at the change in Eddie Johnson's 3pt%

You sure?

Unless he has a 33 point quarter incomming that means we choke the lead.

Thinking of those late 80s early 90s teams makes me want to have playoff game threads for those and watch them on youtube or something, just to have some meaningful games to watch/remember.
