Here it is folks, The thread where we discuss how the signs are pointing to us ending up with BOTH Ayton & Doncic. Try to keep all the Ayton & Doncic combo talk in here to eliminate it from the other threads and make it easier for everyone to follow.

Im going to quote my post from the other thread that really helped kick off the idea (even though i have been talking about getting both players for much much much longer).

Doncic is doing his part to drop his draft spot so its easier for us to trade up from #16 to get him!

I mean him and Ayton share the same damn agent, one that we have spent years in his good graces and doing right by his clients. You dont think if there was a possibility of him having his 2 guys who both should be the top pick ending up together on the same team, that he/they arnt going to try to do that? Remember, when we are talking with Aytons agent, we are also talking to Doncics agent at the same time, which makes it easier to do something and pull off the heist of the century ! McD is getting his Kevin Costner Draft Day on while employing some Oceans Eleven type s**t!

Facts are Doncic wants to be here. His agent said they could help force him where they want him to go. Spoke about previously doing the same thing with Dragic.....and he was drafted by the Spurs and traded to us....as thats where they wanted him, here in Phoenix.

Then you have Woj on his podcast yesterday saying the same thing, that Doncic has a ton of power and can use that power to go where he wants.

The blatant troll job by Gambo helping the FO by leaking his fake Doncic Scouting Report.

Now hours before the Combine this news breaks, almost like Doncic is telling the Kings/Hawks, "You might want to take a closer look at the guys at the combine".

I said it before and ill say it again, we will end up with both Ayton and Doncic, mark my words!

He really hasnt said that much, most of the talk being repeated from Igor is from before he even became our coach!

ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla and Jonathan Givony hinted that Doncic’s representation might be attempting to steer him a certain direction.

“He’s going to have a little bit of a say in this process, as well. He’s actually under contract at Real Madrid,” Givony said as a guest on The Woj Pod. “If he doesn’t want to go to Sacramento, he could definitely make things hard on them and give them a lot to think about by saying, ‘Guys, if you draft me, I’m going to sign a huge extension. I’m going to make $2 million Euro next year, and I’m not coming over until you trade my rights.’

“He’s never at any point said he’s coming over next year. I obviously think he’d like to,” Givony added. “But he has a lot more leverage in this process than anybody in this draft. Sacramento is not the most attractive place to go for a young prospect. I’ll be interested to see how that plays out.”

they don’t have to. we just need to swoop in with future picks and trade for whatever pick he falls to

It could happen, but Doncic would need to convince Vlad that he is not playing there, we would need to convince him that we're taking Ayton regardless, and we would have to come up with a better offer than all of the other teams - especially with a high pick this year, so I'm looking at Atlanta adn Memphis, who could both use Doncic as the face of the (rebuilding?) franchise.

I think Memphis would offer Gasol and #4 pick for #2 and a couple players.
Atlanta would offer Schroder and #3, maybe even further draft considerations (swap in one or two years) for #2 and a couple players.

What would we have to offer to beat those?
I think it would be #16, #31, #59, Bender or TJ, 2019 1st rounder unprotected, and one of the two 2021 first round picks that are owned by us. Do we want to offer such a killer package? Are we sure even this would beat the above offers? I don't think so...

The idea is to strike well before the draft. Go after the Grizzlies pick HARD! Iw we walk into the draft on draft day with the #1 and #4 picks it would be a cakewalk to get Luka. His agent (Who also happens to be Aytons Agent...who also happens to be Nash's agent) would know what we are planning on doing and would lay it on the line for SAC/ATL that Doncic will not play for them. It happens more than people know. Sac might be a bit mad, but they will be fine with Bagley or Bamba. ATL too. Its going to cost a ton to get the pick from Memphis (Warren/Chriss/#16/2019 1st unprotected/2020 Bucks 1st Unprotected/2021 Miami 1st unprotected for #4/Parsons) so if SAC or ATL try to call out bluff to trade him to us, they know that we just spent all assets to get the #4, and therefor have none left to give to them. So they can be really screwed. We could be too if they do take Doncic anyways, but we would still have the #4 pick to draft whoever else we want (Or use in a trade for a star player if need be).

The question is, if the Kings FO really going to gamble on Doncic coming over or not. I see the Kings fans like to mention Bogdan Bogdanovic and how people didnt think he would come over but he did, yet they fail to realize the we spent 2 years trying to get him to come over and kept refusing (Just like Doncic can do to them for us). SO does Divac roll the dice and take him anyways and end up missing the rest of the top talent that will be there, or does he just say F Doncic, and go for the guy who is fine being there and will be there from day one, who is also top tier talent?

I love how the conspiracy plays out but I doubt seriously Doncic will only play for Irgor. Doncic would probably approve teams like Elway did in 85 and the Kings would have to cultivate the best offer they could from the selected squads.

Dallas - Barnes and #5?
Clippers - Tobias Harris, #12, #13?
Wizards - Wall and #15?
Suns - ???? - I don't want to give up Jackson. #16 and a smattering of other picks doesn't get it done for either side.

I remember Vlade saying he had a better deal in the table for Cousins and turned it down before trading him for scraps so anything is possible with that guy. I think Porter will be in play by then.

Porter checks a lot of boxes. Impressive measurements. That would be such a Kingsy thing to do.

Kings are pretty weak when it comes to their bigs, and missing their pick next year means they have to try to win games next year. Would be a lot easier if they were to add Bagley or even Bamba instead of waiting what could be a year or two for Doncic. No matter what the Kings FO has to be questioning this whole thing right now.

We COULD have possibly packaged #10 and #16 to move up to 6/7/8 and hope Doncic would fall.

I think the Cavs and Knicks are the only teams that could trade away the pick for a reasonable price.

The other crazy "conspiracy" scenario is if the Clippers want to add Lebron and Kawai and need cap space. Perhaps the Clippers send 12/13 to Dallas, we add 16. We get back the #5 pick and we absorb bad contracts.

I dont think there is anyway that the Clippers just up and give away the picks for capspace. They will want future picks involved. And i really havent seen them linked to any of the big named FA's. Hell Kawhi (Who i think they should and could get) would cost them assets to get him away from the Spurs, and you can damn well bet that San Antonio would LOVE to get 2 lotto picks in this draft!

I still think our best bet is to deal straight up with Memphis. They get a ton of picks and cap relief, while also getting a couple of usable players in return (Warren and Chriss or Chandler).

I also think that if push comes to shove we could get the #9 from NY by offering up #16/Warren or Chriss while also taking back Noah. Flip that pick to Memphis (So they slide 5 spots instead of 12) and offer them all the picks already mentioned, but since they are getting a much higher pick (#9 instead of #16) they dont get to dump Parsons on us or get Warren (Or whoever the player is that NY took from us).
