Who Is Your Guy at #16?
Curious where everyone's head is at. A couple of these players (Walker, Smith) may not be available at #16, but supposing you had your way (and no one unexpectedly drops), who's your pony?

Re: Who Is Your Guy at #16?
I could live with Elie, Khyri, Zhaire and Lonnie. All the other guys in the mix are pretty much a waste of a solid pick. Holiday, DiVincenzo, Brown, Simons and such are late first rounders and i see no reason to pick them so high.
McD has the tendency to overreach with less valuable picks, as he did with Reed who is not bad player at all, but would’ve been available much later, where we pick Peters. We missed out on Brooks, Bell, Ojeleye when we could have any of them PLUS Reed.

Re: Who Is Your Guy at #16?
as always its Best Player Available. What i Mean is Ryan has a board with 16 names on it - when pick 16 comes - the highest player on that board is picked. now if at 16 the best player left is 13 and that player is a Center - assuming the pick Ayton and the next slotted player is 14 but a guard - I am okay going guard
but if the top player left is McD's 11th ranked player - Center or Forward - take that player
but if naming names that I realistically think will be there at 16: i like Zhaire and Divicenzo or Okobo

Not a fan of the choices, but out of those, I guess Okobo.

Dear Zhaire, the word "raw" you hear from NBA people doesn't mean the things you think it means, not at all...

He has raw intelligence.

Re: Who Is Your Guy at #16?
I'm not sure what to think about Zhaire Smith. Defensively, he felt like Texas Tech's Swiss army knife. Offensively, it seemed like he played like a power forward for Texas Tech: not a lot of perimeter possessions, attacking the basket by squaring up in mid-range or off pops, constant screening off ball, infrequent self-creation in an offense that encourages dribble drive, crashing the offensive boards hard, shot well on low volume from the perimeter, tons of looking for cuts and lobs at the rim, etc.. Almost 80% of his made shots at the rim were assisted or on put backs, which would be ridiculous for a guard.
I can see the super role player-type mold from him if his outside shot is real and he can defend 1-4, but I personally wouldn't bet on him developing into a shot creator or playmaker.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Haven’t looked this far down the draft because I’m assuming we are trading the pick.

I think that he is a project who is gonna need a couple of years to try to improve his overall skillset.
He is freak jumper, but he is just 6'4 so I do not think he is gonna be able to defend PFs at all.
I would not select him at #16.

Its funny. No one likes Khyri Thomas who can shoot and defend 2X DPOY in Big East, yet just about every poster says that is what we need.....hmmm

I would be OK drafting him.
I think people are not high about him because he is 22 years old.
He is three years older than Zhaire Smith for example.

Drafting him could be sort of compromise between using the pick and trading it for vet.

I like Khyri, just kinda miffed he's falling on draft boards. Figured he must not be killing it in his workouts, but IDK.

Maybe you are right. But the best work outs isn't shared information.
