Would you make offensive three seconds legal, too? Unless you have the ball, maybe?

No, the offense already has too much of an advantage but this nonsense of making bigs step in-and-out of the key is just absurd.

FIBA rules only have offensive 3 seconds. Its works fine just having it on one end

Also, get rid of the basket interference rule so players can take the ball off the rim like in FIBA. Obviously keep goaltending but like FIBA, the basket interference rule would make the game more exciting. Imagine that shot by Leonard against the Sixers being snatched away after it hit the rim instead of bouncing around 15 times.

Argument against this - it would make harder for superstars to have 30+ points games. So NBA would never consider this.

Unfortunately this seems to be a huge deal for the NBA. Numbers. That's why you virtually can't defend in today's NBA. Everyday you get some stupid arbitrary record to show in social media. More highlight dunks as well. I don't see it going away unfortunately.

His offense has been a bit underwhelming in the bubble but I thought he looked solid defensively. Stats back that up at least.

He is good when he is guarding someone. His biggest problem is help defense, which isn't captured here because if a bunch of guys blow by him for buckets, it won't be counted as him defending it because he didn't try.

He got better at this over the season but reverted some to old habits.

Yeah he went back to some old habits for sure, but I don’t think he was as bad as people were exaggerating him to be imo. Suns had a top 4 defense in the bubble. I’m not too worried about his defense, more so his offense.

Ayton's offseason needs to be watching and breaking down tons of games on the defensive side of things. This idea of working with Olajawun is nonsense. That's a different era of basketball. He should be watching tape of players like Mark Gasol, Joakim Noah, Draymond Green, Serge Ibaka, Rudy Gobert. See how they handle both the pick-n-roll and help defense in this era of three-point shooting. Compare and contrast their defensive efforts and positioning against his in film. He needs to hire a video coordinator to work with him on this part of the game. It's like paying a personal trainer for the mind instead of the body. Booker pays for trainers in the offseason so I would expect the same from Ayton.

Trade Ayton sooner than later please

He is Vucevic with Whiteside motor , good enough to get a Max but not enough to contribute to winning daily.

Yeah, he is engaged when he wants to but the problem is that he is not constant.

For now we don't know how he will play the next game. That's what makes players great...consistency night in and night out.

Ayton needs to work in the mental part of the game. It's all about energy, effort, activity, attention, focus...

He is good but he has all the tools to be GREAT.

I wonder what causes Ayton's lack of energy, being winded down easily. The rumors about the suspension being related to him taking the blue pill. If true, who takes those at 21yo. Maybe there is some medical issue with him.

Yes he has to work on that. Fortunately he’s very young. I think Monty will help him a lot

Yeah he has to work on that. But it’s pretty common among young bigs. Fortunately he’s very young and has a great coach with Monty mentoring him so I think he’ll improve for sure. Just be patient with him 8-)

Wiggins 2.0 incoming!

He will get the max due to POTENTIAL and empty stats .

One or two years later everyone will have realise that he is not worthy that contract and will be traded badly.

He is a big reason Suns won 8 in the bubble. Both ends. And that as a 22 year old. Vucevic is an all star and Ayton will surpass him as early as next season as Ayton is not a liability defensively.

Its concerning some people think all big men have to behave like Amare or KG to be effective.

Look at Duncan, Robinson and Hakeem.. All gentle non aggressive demeanor but dominated quietly (no yelling or aggressive taunts)

You have proven to be a hyperbole towards negativity and worst case comparisons towards Ayton.

You have lost all arguments now and in the future regarding assessing Ayton.

I really do wish he'd play with more aggression though.
