can hit the open three to keep defense honest
can set up the offense but someone who doesn’t need to go out and score 30 points
Still relatively young and still grow with your core guys!

all jokes aside, not sure about Marcus Smart tbh until I see this team on the court for half a season

Smart's been discussed a lot. My understanding was that he can't keep defenses honest.

I still want him but feel like anything less than 15 mil per and Boston matches. And that is a lot of money for someone who may or may not be the product of a Brad Stevens system. But maybe his effort would rub off on players.

I HATE the idea of starting Knight, so I am open to sign or trade for any decent PG that is available.

Smart doesn't space the floor, at all, not a tiny bit, you can only play him successfully in lineups with 4 shooters. Meaning you can't play him with Josh Jackson or any 4 we have (maybe in time with Bender). He is great off the bench but not the type of player you want starting. He would infuse the team with toughness but spending on him would hurt cap space later and not help that much, stick him on a really really good team that can cover up his lack of shooting, ok, but him on a team with other players who are still learning or are flawed, its not gonna go well.

He is a good defender who can switch, do not mean to knock that, but he makes really boneheaded plays on Offense and has horrible shot selection (for him).

If you are trying to save cap space for a max free agent he is the exact type of guy you don't sign.

Yeah, if we had 4 lights out shooters I'd love him. It's too bad he's been such a bad shooter...I loved him coming out of college but with guys like TJ and especially JJ on our team at this point, there is no way you can really play him with any lineup.

I don’t think Ainge is stupid enough to give him anything more than $8M/yr which is what 6MOY Lou Williams got.

We can't tank again, Booker will leave and or Mcd will get fired. They are making win now moves, trading up to 10 was a win now, smart or not tanking is done, I don't think we get to the playoffs this year but we are darn sure gonna try. I expect an improvment of around 12 wins-15 wins, but not enough for playoffs.

Yeah his name is Elie Okobo. Bookmark it, right it down, Elie Okobo is our future starting PG. He has all the tools and talent, he can shoot it he can pass, he's long and rangy for a point guard, he'll be our guy. I'm excited we stole him with 31st pick.

Why we keeps talking about Booker leaving? Did any star forced the trade before signing 2nd contract?

I'd like to get Dragic. I'm not a fan of bringing former players back but with Koko he makes lot of sense. It would be nice to have at least one player on the roster who knows new coach. Hill is another option. Or Exum but he is another guy who can't shoot. Also Jazz may want to keep him.
Beverley may be good as a 3D guy next to Booker. But I wouldn't overpay for all defense no offense players like Smart or Bradley. And don't want Rondo who may be a headache like he was on Dallas.

This kid has potential as a pnr scorer who can pass. Good size and footwork too. If all goes well we won't need to trade or sign a new pg after all.

I keep seeing people say that Elie has good size, and honestly I had to check it twice to see if I missed something, but at 6’2”, I don’t think he has the size I would want. But with Ulis at a much smaller size, I can see how one could think Elie has good size in comparison.

As for the player himself, I like what he has to offer the team. I like the left handed dominance and the international experience. If Igor is the right coach for him, I could see him developing quickly.

I don’t want to bring Goran back. It seems that both times he gave up on the team before being traded. I think he has shown who he is. No room for babies on this team.

The link from the draft site posted above lists him as 6’2”, and I didn’t say he was short for a pg, I just don’t see that as “good size”.
