Booker & Ayton truly has Shaq & Kobe potential

Igor Kokosov should get Booker and Ayton to study their game tapes from their championship years and watch how they dominate the league.
I truly believe Devin Booker has potential to be the best SG in the league, as well as Ayton for center.
Also believe Devin Booker and DeAndre ayton have potential to be top five players in the league. Basically that's what were the Kobe and Shaq Duo best players in the position and top five players in the league.
Also believe Igor Kokosov has potential to be an elite coach and he can get Booker and Ayton to those levels.
Exciting times for Phoenix Suns! Can't wait to see that awesome progression this year!

I disagree.
I would love it...but I think it is asking for too much
I do not see Ayton being that physical playing the game. Shaq was super physical, he LOVED tough contact and he was always looking to show his big dominance.
Ayton is more of a finesse basketball player, he does not avoid contact but looks like he does not love it. And he is not the shot blocker or intimidator that Shaq was in college. I think Shaq's motor, coordination and strength at his size are unrepeatable.
Booker is pretty close to Kobe on offense ( better shooter but worse finisher) and that alone is amazing, but he is way worse on defense.

I never liked the Kobe comparison except for the mental aspect. Booker strikes me more of a Brandon Roy type physically which is still plenty great. Although I hope to hell he has the Mamba mentality.

Nope, however, they still have the potential to be great.

I don't think either guys would ever bee as dominant as Shaq/Kobe but they could be dominant in their own way, even if not to that same level.

Roy/oden potential without injuries. Uninjured, that pair would have won championships with that team.

Brandon Roy is a really good comp for Booker. Don't know why I hadn't thought of it! Maybe the best comp I've heard.
Ayton simply does not have Shaq's potential. We talkin' bout SHAQ homie.
As of today, I'd bet on Jaren Jackson being the best player from this draft class. If Ayton was anything close to the defender JJJ is, he could get to that Robinson/Olajuwon level. That's probably too much to ask. Doesn't mean he won't be a 10x All-Star, 2x NBA Champion and 1st ballot HOF'er.

I've brought the comparison before but I think the Harden comparison is the one most people look to since he's the better player. Personally, Roy at his peak to this day is still one of my favourite players to watch. Just super cerebral, can initiate offense in the half court with the best of them, had sneaky athleticism and had a helluva midrange pull up game. He was also a really good defender as well.
I think betting on Jaren Jackson to be the best player in this draft would be a great bet. He's probably not the favourite but he has all the tools to be. Personally, I still think Luka will end up being the best player but JJJ is a very close second.

Really the only thing I can argue is that Shaq and Kobe only 3-peated, where I see Booker/Ayton (and Durant next year) winning 4 rings in a row.

That's unrealistic but I think broker and agent should dominate The League

Jackson Jr is only going to be good if Grizzlies find PG. Dude really can't create his own shot

Devin Booker is way better scorer than Roy. Roy is better playmaker and defender. Booker is better offensive Kobe with worse defense

They have a pretty damn good PG in Conley. And just drafted one of the more NBA ready ones in Jevon Carter. They also have Andrew Harrison, Kobe Simmons and Shelvin Mack so they are not really lacking for a quality starter or depth at PG.

Ayton started it, so lets see how close he can replicate Shaq's rookie season. Shaq improved the Magic by 20 wins, while averaging 23.4, 13.9, 3.5 bpg, and 1.9 apg.
I'll be really happy if he can average double digit rebounds and more than 2 bpg, especially if he brings better defense than expected.
