Weird timing, but even as a McDonough-believer this was overdue.

This is really odd. So here we go. Another 5 years breaking in a rookie GM.

I figured this was why. He’s been sitting on his hands and gets too attached to his draft picks and then trading players at their lowest value.

Not sure how much I like Sarver middling with things but this is peak Suns to fire the GM a week before the season, lol.

I like JJ, maybe he can use his NBA player capital and get something done. I guarantee he will do everything possible to make himself look like he is the man for the job, I know I would.

I honestly feel more comfortable with James Jones making decisions at this point....and especially with player/agent relations. We've talked enough about how McD's reps among players out there probably isn't the best.

I wonder if this means we will now see our first round pick traded for a PG?

I think Sarver believes in JJ and I bet JJ has a rabbit under his hat

NOPE! That was the point. People figured they could bully McD....not JJ.

Agree with James Jones being a good fit. Hopefully the Suns' become a more attractive/approachable franchise with someone that can relate to players a bit better as GM (assuming James Jones gets the job).

Good riddance. The timing is ridiculous though. Why not make this move back in May, do a proper GM search, and have them hire their coach. Don't get me wrong I like Igor but there is a right and a wrong way to do things and for some damn reason the Suns always choose the wrong way.

But McD was a BAD GM. This move is very similar to the Watson firing.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.
