That's a solid tweet. He seems to be a popular guy. Personally I'm not as unhappy about signing him as cutting Reed. I just think that was a bad choice even though I can see he was way down the depth chart...basically the same profile, and to a lesser extent, of Bridges. I just hope if Bridges is injured for a lot of the year, plays in 21 games and struggles a bit off of injury, we don't cut him for Jameer Nelson or something.

Reeves was not good enough to beat out our other young players. He was never going to be a top 8 rotation player.

Maybe not top 8 but you carry 15 spots...we need to stop using some of crap filler if we have youth that can develop, particularly when they haven't gotten the opportunity due to injury.

The injury may have denied them playing time as a rookie so much (when they could have gotten plenty due to the state of our roster) that some fans may not even know his name.

1) Have to ask who is going to add more wins Crawford or Shaq, Reed, Arthur. If we are trying to produce wins to attract free agents next year we have to think about it from this perspective. Were Shaq and Reed long term pieces ??

2) At the trade deadline which players are likely going to be needed by a playoff team ... Ariza / Chandler / Crawford or Shaq / Reed. Can we get real assets from these veterans at a later time?

Crawford won't add wins, but those other guys were not likely to either. I would have waited a bit and picked up Frazier. Crawford cost Minnesota more games last year than he helped, as one of their posters stated, and the #s reflect.

What games did the Twolves lose because they had Jamal Crawford ? This type of hyperbole when you consider the twolves won 30 games prior to Crawford getting there and Crawford had played major minutes for a team that won 50+ games the previous 5 season he was on it before he arrived in Minnesota.

Nobody is signing or not signing Jamal Crawford because of advanced stats that you have people tossing out these sorts of things on a guy who has been in the league 18 years is funny and shows just how little they know about the nba . A GM or coach can pull up a program type if Crawfords name and see every single play he was involved in the entire season.

10 ppg on 41% shooting off the bench and was voted teammate of the year BY THE PLAYERS and somehow people are arguing against him signing for the vet minimum . What league are some of you watching ?

Crawford is a very good pick and roll guard and was in LA as Deandre Jordan blossomed on both sides of the ball .Ayton should be able to learn a lot on spacing and pick and roll basketball from him .

Jamal Crawford had a 185 assists last year in 1653 minutes while KAT and Wiggins both played over 2900 minutes top 10 in the league and had a 199 and a 160 assists respectively and somehow the Twolves fans blamed Crawford. Crawford immediately opted out of a deal that would've paid him twice as much to stay with the Twolves to get out of Minnesota and after the way jimmy has acted towards I dont think Crawford was a problem at all .

Its a good pickup for the vet minimum for the Suns

Thank you. People just hear **** and run with it.

So Crawford might make his Phoenix debut as early as Saturday at Denver. When Crawford does play, Kokoskov sees him coming off the bench and playing the point on offense.

“He’s going to (make plays) for us, he’s going to score a lot,” Kokoskov said.

Along with offense, Phoenix has a proven player who will take the pressure shot.

"People just all see his handles, but he’s a player. He knows how to play the game," Suns star Devin Booker said Tuesday. "He’s a good veteran. A good guy. Loves basketball. I think we’ll relate very well.”

Booker said he talked with Crawford a week ago about the possibility of joining Phoenix. Crawford declined a 2018-19 player option in Minnesota that had a guaranteed salary of $4.5 million to become an unrestricted free agent.

“He said it was something he wanted to do,” Booker said. “He liked (the idea), but he wasn’t sure yet.”

Booker helped Crawford see Phoenix could be a good fit for him.

“(He talked about) exactly what they’ve been building,” said Crawford, a career 15.0 points-per-game scorer, “how good we can be together.”

From watching the games and interactions between players on the bench and during timeouts it seems like Jamal is a better vet leader than Dudley, Tyson and Ariza combined.

Yeah I made fun of this signing and still don't think he's really any good but I have to say in hindsight he seems like a decent signing and a good guy to have around.

I agree. He looks decent on the court because our bench is so bad. In Minnesota apparently he apparently was terrible to watch on the court for them, but still well liked by teammates.

He's been more positive than negative and the actual mentoring he's visibly doing on the court, on the bench and presumably off the court is invaluable. I was wrong about his signing

His vibe on court or on the bench is NEVER bad. He is always upbeat, energetic and never downtrodden seemingly. There are a tone of times where Ariza slumps his shoulders and seems to mentally pout or give up on plays or get frustrated and he is never talking to the guys about anything, the opposite of what Crawford does. Chandler slumped and dogged it, Tj and Book slump and half ass and dog it a lot too.

He really strikes me as a guy who just loves to play. Some do it for money and others the love of the game and I think he falls in that second group. He's really embraced being the old head the young guys look up to then going out there and having some fun doing jamal crawford like things for 20 minutes a night.

I was wrong to clown on this signing.

I think we all were wrong on this signing. The guy is the kind of veteran anyone would look up to. Given our recent experience with veteran signings to "help the young guys develop," JC is the exception to the rule. I think we found just the guy we needed.
