Malcolm Brogdon for $10 million or Terry Rozier for $20 million?

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Tue Oct 16, 2018 8:28 pm

Both likely restricted free agents next summer. Brogdon can make around $10.5 million his first year and Rozier is likely wanting to start at $20 million.

Who would you rather have at those prices?

At those prices definitely Brogdan. You think Mil won't match for that amount though? Seems unlikely.

I seriously doubt Brogdon is available for $10.5m. That being said I'd prefer to have him over Rozier even at the same price.

I doubt the bucks let him walk for that price

I would even take Brogdon for $20 million over Rozier for $20 million.

Yeah I think their contracts will be much closer than this. I'd go Brogdon for sure (although it hurts my bucks :)). I think Rozier will be easier to get because unless Boston is willing to pay a giant lux tax bill there really no way for them to keep him especially since Brown and Tatum will need new deals in the coming years. Brodgon will be interesting. If the Bucks want to they can keep him but they will also have Middleton and Bledsoe as FA's this summer and it's hard to see a scenario where they can afford all 3.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Brogdon is gonna get a bigger contract. I do not know why it is projected that salary in the poll.

Brogdon in a heartbeat. Efficient player, plays defense. All around player. Bigger. I would pay Brogdon more flat out than Rozier.

Maybe he's eligible for more next summer than his max extension amount right now, but from Lowe's article today...

Brogdon is one of the league's sneakiest extension candidates, eligible for a first-year salary of up to 120 percent of the league's average -- about $10.5 million. The full boat: a four-year, $47.5 million deal that would kick in for 2019-20.

Neither. Waste of roster spot, and waste of money. Neither player makes us better by a lot (maybe +3-5 games)

One year deal, and then more next summer, easily. We don’t need someone taking the ball out of Booker’s hands. We need defenders, shooters, Booker and Ayton. That’s all we need, IMO.

Is this a real question? LOL!

I'll echo others here: Brogdon - even at even money. He's bigger, great defender, much better playmaker & passer and a much better shooter. And he doesn't really need the ball in his hands to be effective.

Nobody is giving Rozier 20 million. He's so overrated... Giving him 12M+ per year would be a fireable offense. Heck, even 10-12M would be an overpay. He's really just not that good.

Part of this results from seeing he wanted a contract near $20 million and I saw Sidery tweet that he'd want him and then Sidery had an article about whether we should go after him and 89% of their readers said yes. I don't think he's worth near that much. Brogdon's tough for me to tell. Solid but seemed to regress a tad, probably in part because Bledsoe showed up.

Rozier may ask for $20M, but I don't see him getting anywhere near that much playing backup in Boston.

Guessing Brogdan @ 13 vs. Rozier @ 17 will be closer to the reality

Yes, I am going to edit the poll...since users can edit picks, but wanted to give it a day or two in case the new front office might need some guidance if those are the numbers (in case they check).

Brogs plays a game that is more cerebral than physical. I’ve always liked smart players. I miss being a team that plays smart.

In a heartbeat. We would have done that when we traded Bledsoe. We wanted Brogdon more than that pick.
