Are we maybe having a tanking season?

It doesn't seem too illogical...

If so, which pick could we get in 2019 draft? Which player?

That would mean we are not trading our picks, for next year at least

I would trade the #1 pick for a new owner at this point.

Would I really do it?

Um I highly doubt the number 1 pick is unattainable. Top 3 seems likely. Top 5 seems a lock. Of course, with our draft history, anything less than a top 3 pick is probably a bust.

This 2019 draft looks whack to me early on. That’s why I was really hoping we’re done with tanking and could win enough so that our pick just ends up being somewhere in the 10-14 range.

Next real winnable game is home against Magic. Until that record is 2-19. There is Bulls too but they have four resting days under. Hopefully Suns players read this one and start playing. Booker can win someones himself like Memphis game so maybe record is a little bit better like 5-16. Opponents dont have back to backs either so hard times coming.

This is a relatively weak draft and we are just gonna end up No 4 at best and draft the next Dragan Bender or Josh Jackson. Maybe we end up No 5 and take the next Alex Len. Or we take the next undersized PG with the first name Tyler, last name could be Ennis or Ulis.

It's very top heavy. Outside of maybe the top 3-4, it drops a fair bit in talent. Unfortunately, I don't really see how the legitimate top guys in this upcoming draft helps us.

I disagree. Aside from RJ who really looks like clear cut #1, there isn't really that much of a talent difference between the guys like Reddish, Zion, Little, Simisola (the software doesn't allow me to type his surname lol), Grimes, Langford, Garland, Bol, Johnson, King. Any of these guys could end up the best player in 2-3 years.

You can drop 4 spots in lottery this year and only have a 14% of winning if bottom 3, then it drops to like 12 and 10...so it will be easier to drop....but if we improve and finish a little better our chances improve on moving up.

They better be doing everything they can to win every game.

I said last year that I was done with tanking. The Suns led me to believe they were too. We'll see if that stands firm later in the season when we're eliminated from the playoffs by January.

We are not tanking, just the youngest team in the league with a new coach implementing a new system, with 3 rookies, a G league PG, washed up PF, and injuries to our two guys who carry the scoring load...this is a team that will grow together, playing in a tough conference with veteran teams with playoff and a lot of experience. It will be fun to watch the growth. Those of us who came in expecting to make the playoffs or something were fooling themselves. We will gradually get more competitive as the season goes on, particularly when we hit the Nov 30th-Dec 26th mark. Then we have maybe half of our games a bit easier from Jan 8th to about Feb 2nd, and then Feb 10th and the two games after the all star break (21st and 23rd).

Of course we will gradually beat more good teams as the season goes on as well.

Did you watch Duke play last night? Of course we’re tanking. Zion or Barrett are can’t miss talents.

I think Julius Randle will have a better NBA career than Zion. That shot is ugly and he won't have the strength to battle NBA PF's and won't have the quickness to get by SF's.

How does he not have the strength? Boban is literally the only NBA player than weighs more than him. And he definitely can get by SFs. He is so much more explosive than Randle.

Wow, that's a brutal list of picks. And they already traded away Chriss

So it's highly probable that the Suns will just let Bender and Jackson go when their rookie deals are up?

Suns should have some cap space once Ariza's deal is off the books. Even more for the summer of 2020 when Anderson's $21 million is off the books.

Suns have to look at free agency, not necessarily franchise players, to complement the youth?

They will probably see what free agents are maybe willing to sign this summer and waive/stretch Anderson to give them a lot more cap space. It saves Sarver like $6 million to waive him anyway, so I'm sure he'll do that (only $15.6 million guaranteed) and then if stretch it would open up like an extra $10.4 million for free agency.
