Something I just realized, we were .500 in the 12 games Oubre started for us last year. We were .186 without him starting. Small sample, but that's pretty compelling to me, and shows me why he should be our #1 priority.

Coincides with the addition of Tyler Johnson. I personally think it's more to do with having a steady hand at that PG position than Oubre's play. Not saying Oubre didn't step up in some moments but the stats don't fully convince me yet. Sure it adds a level of dynamism but in terms of positive impact, I need to see more

So the question I have is who is the long term starter at SF? Bridges or Oubre? To me Bridges makes more sense and we should invest time and money on him. We should keep Oubre as the 6th man but only if we can get him on a reasonable contract.

Board seems split on Oubre. I personally loved him and feel like his impact is understated by some...

But I think Oubre will sign with us to be the starter and not a 6th man. If we sign him and try to make him a 6th man he will probably want out. Then maybe we **** up like we did with Warren and trade him and a pick for cash

Bridges makes more sense to me. I think Bridges covers a lot more defensive mistakes than most posters see/realise and I think that really underrates his impact on the floor. If he's able to put his shot together which I think is likely, and he continues to work on his offensive creation, I really think we have a damn good starter in Bridges. I love his IQ and his fit as a guy that's just productive out there regardless of if he has the ball in his hand or not.

I think Oubre is better with the ball in his hand but I still don't particularly like the ball to be in his hands more than it needs to be especially when there's guys like Rubio, Booker and Ayton out there. Off the bench with less competition for offensive creation, I think that's where he should be.

So pretty efficient and a difference maker, considering he'll (hopefully) be our third scoring option this year.

He wasn't just statistically good, he legitimately gives a crap and plays hard.

Aside from the odd blown dunk and picking up some silly fouls, I love the passion. Slapping the court (albeit giving up a layup from memory) and chase-down or weakside blocks are all things we need.

Max I'd go would be $60m over 4yrs. Hopefully they look at Brook Lopez's contract and settle around there, so $13m per. I suspect he's going to take the QO though considering there's so few quality FAs next year.

Wasn't a huge Oubre fan but he's a Sun now for at least the next season and after watching a bunch of highlights last night, I'm excited

We've got some speed and athleticism on the wings - Oubre, Bridges, Tyler. All are plus athletes who can defend and get out on the break, looking forward to seeing how Rubio impacts our pace as well.

Oubre's so young and has ALL the physical skills you want as well as the motor, he just needs to harness it now and put the team first.

That's not Oubre's ValleyBoyz line (which he trademarked). That's someone else trying to capitalize on the name. There stuff mostly looks pretty cheesy. Seems most fans ignore them but some have given them negative comments on their tweets for trying to capitalize on the brand that Oubre trademarked.

That's also not too orginal given that it is the old symbol of Valley National Bank I think.

Oubre: 6-7, 205, 7-3 wingspan, and he just seems to be more athletic than Mikal. Oubre has physical tools very similar to Kawhi.
Bridges: 6-7, 200, 7-0 wingspan, he has the better defensive mentality.

It seems that Bridges is probably closer to have a 7-2 wingspan, I have seen that multiple times (Mike Schmitz for example) and his arms looks crazy long...so it makes sense.

I think both are thin, quick and long but Oubre is more explosive and agressive than Bridges. Oubre is clearly a better scorer too, he can create shots for himself.

But Bridges is a low usage guy with high basketball IQ that does not commit mistakes and plays GREAT individual/team defense...so I would prefer to start Bridges and give Oubre the ball more on offense as a sixth man.

Bridges is a MUCH easier fit on any NBA team than Oubre. Low usage, high IQ, great defender and a budding offensive skill set. Oubre is a little more limited in terms of what he brings to the table but he is definitely a more skilled/experienced offensive player, he's a lot more dynamic on both sides of the court and because of that I think he makes a better 6th man type of player.

It would be like TJ vs Tucker. I think Tucker is the guy you want in your starting line up because of what he gives you in terms of defensive versatility, floor spreading and deferring to the real star offensive players. Whereas TJ is a little more of a black hole offensively (like Oubre) but can give you buckets and would wreck a ton of bench units on his own.

Bridges imo makes more sense as the long term starter at the wing vs Oubre who's ability to create his own offense would probably be more valuable off the bench.
