If we would have done this in January, we'd probably be talking playoffs.

Who does he share an agent with? Seriously. That might give us clues on the REAL off season plans.

This guy is 30 years old and has been on 4+ NBA teams and has not cut it. Why now are we giving him a chance? Kinda baffling.

Jimmer should add to the outside firing power to open up more space for the bigs in the paint. He deserves another chance in NBA if other older PGs like Calderon or Tony Parker are still hanging around. Lol. Don't forget he scored 30+ against NBA caliber defenders in preseason games against Houston.

Sarver must be trying to sell tickets to the Mormon community. Jimmer's a scrub, rather just give the minutes to Melton and Okobo.

Same day as the announcement that Oubre is done for the season. Guessing they are taking a flyer on a scorer to hopefully replace some of Oubre's scoring. Also I take it TJ is probably done. If he was anywhere close to coming back, we wouldn't need Jimmer's scoring

I think BW got it right that we'll probably use Jimmer in the Troy Daniels role for next season if we keep him around.

It doesn't make much sense but with all those injuries we'll be unwatchable again so why the hell not.
Ah, how well I remember that 2011 draft and all those Jimmer fans at .net! :)

No reason not to just give those minutes to Okobo, Melton, and George King while tanking the rest of the season!!! No **** reason to sign Jimmer rather than letting the kids get the most burn possible!!

His stats from the China league are pretty insane, averaging 36 points per game shooting 42% from three. And oddly 2.6 steals per game, second in that league. At this point, who cares? I would have rather tried another player from China, like Pierre Jackson, but as long as we can just not pick up the option if it doesn't work out.

There is plenty reason, with the biggest being next season.

We will be without Daniels and Crawford next season and could see Jimmer as a possible replacement. So we give him a bit of burn in these last 10 games to see exactly what he's got and if he can compete in the league.

I also think this could be a step in another direction as well, like if he plays pretty solid and he could handle more minutes and a bigger role than previously imagined, we might be able to afford moving a guy like Okobo or Melton in a trade.
