Discuss. We need a PF and a PG. probably a PG more.



Also, just watched highlights of this kid from back in the day. Man could he shoot. 42% from 3. Played in the wrong era. That three is quick.

I think this is probably slim to none - and most because only has one year left but...looking at the Warriors - they are capped out. If they lose Durant , they almost HAVE to not just sign Klay but Max him as there cap space is so limited it makes it tough to rebuild. Now they can bring back Cook and Bell I think. I think they are limited for Looney and Cousins

If they decide to move Draymond - what’s a good trade. He would be a pretty good 4 next to Ayton. I am sure it would involve the 6th pick - and granted he is a FA in a year. But he has been outstanding these playoffs

I think there is a chance they move green this summer. The problem is if you trade for him you probably have to pay him like 4-5 years at 25-30 mil either in an extension this summer or when he's a FA next year. IMO that's a terrifying contact for a dude with a lot of hard miles on him and someone who seems to play himself into shape every year. I really worry hes not going to age well. It's that exact worry that makes me think GS might deal him this summer.

I would be interested in Green... wasn’t interested earlier this season, but he got himself back into shape and has been playing well. I would trade Tyler + #6 if that’s all it took and he was interested in coming here

I don't see them moving green. They're banged up, and still in the finals. They'll run it back, they know it's hard to get a team that can be as good as they have been. It'd be a fools errand.

THE reason I bring up trading Green is they would be making a trade at his highest value. Also, there cap space is such it will be hard to improve if you have Curry and Klay, if he is brought back - so using Green to maybe take a step back to go forward. It’s a long shot and probably not the right player for the Suns. I do agree with Week - he may not age gracefully as it were.

THat being said - he would be excellent next to Ayton. The defense, rebounding, passing, intelligence on the court.

If we could trade for Green and sign PatBev, i would bust a nut all over my keyboard.

But the thing is that i dont see them trading him. They need him. He covers up everyone defensive liabilities. He is their glue guy, pretty much the heart of that team. I think if anyone is gone (besides Durant), its Klay. His shooting can be replaced, while Greens intangibles really cant.

Yeah.. I really only see him being moved if KD says he will resign if they move him.

I wouldn't touch green outside of a warriors jersey myself. Not only do I think he's the product of 2 of the best shooters and off the ball movers ever but I see him with Trevor ariza syndrome but more toxicity once hes on a team like the suns. Hard no from me. Won't be worth the contract he demands either.

2 thoughts,

1- Does anyone else have interest in seeing if we can get back to a run and gun style like that which the suns trademarked back in the Nash era?

I really think that we could become a hybrid version of that, with added great perimeter defense, trapping and sharpshooters. If we draft carefully, and acquire players like Beverly that play tenacious defense too.

I also really think that style of play would take Aytons' and Booker's games to another level in a free flowing system. I just can't really imagine anyone being able to realistically stop Ayton or Booker on a fast break either.

I wonder if that is part of the front office's new strategy, in working out high IQ, and good shooters hard working team players with tenacity and energy?

I just find it interesting that they're working out players that can be had primarily in the late first to 2nd round.

But as different as some of their skillsets are, the common intangibles that they share are High IQ, tenacious play and a hustling blue collar type of attitude.

And also the majority also having strong leadership qualities and are good shooters.

2- As for comparisons between Grant Williams and Brandon Clarke, If I'm taking a revisionist perspective. I guess the comparison could be made for Williams being similar to a higher IQ, Burlier, Slightly bigger but less explosive power forward version of a Rodney Rogers/ Wayman Tisdale hybrid?

And for Clarke: A Lou Amundson/ Sean Marion hybrid. A high energy tenacious defender, Who is uber athletic, Blocks a ton of shots and would make highlight plays that energize the team and fans.

The question would then be...........Which player in that mold would you prefer added to our current roster??

Tatum is the best player that they can get in any deal. The guy looks like an All Star in the making, and he is on a rookie contract for a couple years. Nice fit at SF next to Zion at PF.

Smart and Robert Williams would give very good defense and depth to the Pelicans.

Smart and Holiday together would create havoc on defense.

And at #14 they can draft a solid rookie like Sekou, Hachimura, Clarke....and they would get another pick from other year too.

Really good package and they would stop A. Davis going to the Lakers.

I'd imagine they'd want Bridges too. Would that be a deal breaker for everyone? Provided Klutch and Sarver can work together and do a new deal for Draymond. He would fit pretty well next Ayton.

He mentioned in a subsequent tweet they'd go for Tyler Herro at 14. Not sure if that is just his own opinion or if he has more info than that. He also tweeted out that he thought it's a safe bet they take a look at Rubio this summer as a PG option.

Yall wanting to pay Draymond Green 30+ million a year for his age 30-35 seasons are far braver than me.

Hot take I'd rather go after Kevin Love considering I think his game will age better and cost to aquire him. Plus you only have his contact for 4 more years as opposed to green who would need a 4-5 year extension after next season.

I threw out the Green thing but I guess I never thought of what to pay him. But he is NOT a $30m a year player. He is a very good player - but he is a role player. Well maybe that is a bit not fair but as we saw in G4 - he was not a factor putting the ball in the basket. Yes, he got assists, plays defense, boards - but he had open looks, on a night he needed to make shots, he didnt. I would put his value at something like 90-100/4. But like you said, thats in another year. The Love idea is an interesting one. Been very quiet on that - but he would bring rebounding and 3 point shooting. The defense would be - well what it is.

I do have a feeling Jones & crew are going to make a BIG move that will be suprising.

I think that is a very good trade for the Pelicans. Getting smart and Tatum would be a solid duo to add to Hiliday and Zion.

I like green a lot but I think that's the contract he's going to want. He didn't fire his agent and go with klutch to take no discount next summer. Plus with a weak 2020 FA class he will cash in.

He's played some long seasons and had to bang with big guys plus he's a guy who notoriously likes to enjoy himself off the court. Guys like that tend to age badly. Hell we saw some of what that might look like early this season when he was out of shape and he didn't play well. I expect he comes in next season in good shape being it's a contract year but once he gets paid who knows.
