Kaminsky is absolutely a liability defensively. They should've done better with that money.

Also if Cam Johnson is playing SG we are screwed. No freaking way that dude is guarding 2s. I still don't believe he can guard a bad 3.

Where is this narrative coming from regarding Cam Johnson's defense? He was a good defender in college. His Ortg was 132 and Drtg was 98. That is not shabby. To put it in perpective, Cam and Mikal had the same defensive rating in their final college seasons. Now I do not think Cam will be on Mikal's level, but he is by no means a bad defender.

I think what people are doing is over rating his lack of athleticism and then assuming that means he will be a bad defender. It is wrong thinking.

He is 6'9" and has never defended 2s. The idea that he is suddenly going to play SG for the 1st time in his career in the NBA is insanity. He defended 3s and 4s in college even if he filled more of a guard role on offense. The idea that he will walk into the NBA capable of guarding NBA 2s is insanity.

The idea that any of us can project with absolute certainty what any player will look like in the NBA is insanity

Maybe, but a moderately athletic combo forward with hip issues guarding 2s is more insane than the others.

He hasnt had hip issues for over a year...
Cams athleticism gets really underrated... 36 inch vertical... go watch Cams driving dunk on Clarke against the Zags

That would never happen. There is no way an unathletic hip injury geriatric guy could beat Clarke and Gonzaga.

He had top 5 fastest lane agility time in the combine with 10.52, which is awfully similar to how Booker performed in his combine run. Kid's got game - let's wait and see

Hopefully it helps him on D more than it did Booker.

With all these guys awareness is the most important thing. Some of our main players lack it. Luckily at least Rubio and Baynes don't lack awareness on defense and I won't judge any rookie and what they can do until I watch them play.

As a Red Raider I’m absolutely thrilled for Norense to get this chance.

He’s not going to make the team. Think of Alan Williams without the offensive game and lesser rebounding. That’s who Odiase is.

But just as a person, you’re not going to get a higher class guy. He was a team leader, captain, all that. He got to Tech in 2014 when we sucked. He battled through injuries multiple years. He had to endure a coaching change.

He lost 2 cousins this past season in a car wreck which was just awful. They came to Lubbock to visit him and watch him play, the went out the night before, went their separate ways at the end of the night and that’s when the accident happened. Norense is a warrior.

Just really happy for him to get this chance and continue his basketball career.

Josh Jackson is 115/141, at 81.5%. God, how can we've had two guys like this playing for us at the same time!?

Much better than Josh's attempt when he was a rookie if anyone remembers that train wreck.
