Hot Takes House

I wanted to try something a little different and see what everyone's hot takes are for the upcoming season. Anything from a dark house candidate to win MVP, the Raptors winning another championship, someone demanding a trade, Ben Simmons shooting 40% from 3, etc.
Here are mine...
1.) The Lakers won't get homecourt advantage in the playoffs. I think they'll end up being possibly the 5th seed.
2.) The Blazers are going to the Finals. Yup! Heard it here first!
3.) Tyler Herro is going to win the 3P Contest. Additionally, he'll be in the top 5 for ROY award.
4.) Russell Westbrook isn't going to like playing second fiddle again. I'm not saying he's going to demand a trade, but we may see a less enthusiastic, less aggressive Russell this season.
5.) The Spurs won't make the playoffs. The Pistons also struggle and end up not making the playoffs.
Suns hot takes...
1.) Ricky Rubio averages 10 assists per game.
2.) Devin Booker averaged 29 points per game.
3.) Suns trade Dario Saric, Tyler Johnson, and Cam Johnson for Blake Griffin.

1. Warriors don’t make playoffs.
2. I think pick 2-8 have meh rookie years
3. National media continues to hate the suns if we start winning
4. No trades until next season

We're going to make a (dumb) trade for KLove if we're sniffing .500 in the new year

The Suns are holding their money, will go through a big improvement this season and then offer AD in the off-season with his relationship with Monty, having a winning team with a scoring guard, shooters and wings, and a young franchise center so that AD doesn't have to play center.

This is the year the wheels fall off the Spurs train. They miss the playoffs and trade some vets at the deadline.
Portland has a down year.
OKC is better than expected and in the playoff race.
The heat are kind of good and make the playoffs.
Bucks win it all.

You're setting your sights too high. We'll make a deal for Andrew Wiggins or Harrison Barnes.

Don’t get us too excited.

Haha, no doubt.

Suns hot take:
a. Monty believes DA will dominate this year. I think so too. DA will make the all star and third all NBA team. 22p, 10r, 3a, 1.5b, 1s. Defense will be average (elite 1x1 defender and subpar help defense but will get better towards the end of the season).
b. Booker will have a down statistical year but makes the all-star due to other shooting guards being hurt or having a down year. CJ McCollum will make it as well. 24p on ridiculous efficiency, will be the closer that he is, and defense will surprise people.
c. Cam averages 18 minutes a game and takes minutes away from Oubre and Bridges.
d. Jevon Carter's minutes will exceed Ty Jerome.
NBA hot take:
1. I might be the lone ranger here but I actually like the Spurs. I think they're going to surprise a lot of people.
2. Joel struggles (relative to expectation) this year, assuming he even plays a significant part of the season. With the weight loss, he loses a lot of his bully ball game.
3. Mavs struggle with Luka and Kristaps not playing well together. Both their stats will fall relative to expectations.
4. Zion +/- stats will be bad this year. His defense will be bad.

Mavs make the playoffs just over us.
DA has a little fire in him this year. Lots of 30 point games, 22/12 sorta season.
Cam Johnson slowly starts to become part of our core of Booker/DA. His skillset in today's game of catching and shooting and moving without the ball will work perfect off of Booker and DA.
Oubre melts down at some point this season and demands a trade in the summer.

Not sure if this constitute as a hot take, but I think we really screwed the pooch by not outbidding Dallas for Porzingis. We could have used Ryan Anderson's buyout, Ariza's & Bender's expiring deals to give instant cap relief and offer a combination of Josh Jackson (who still had some value at that point) together with a top 4 protected pick.
It would have been a risk, but it's the kind of bold move I would have rolled the dice on.
Rubio / Carter
Booker / Hardaway JR/ Okobo
Bridges / Cam Johnson (assuming we would have picked him instead of Jerome with the Celtics pick)
Porzingis / Kaminski
Ayton / Baynes
We'd have less depth but as much young talent as pretty much every team in the league.
EDIT: Forgot that we would have also acquired Hardaway Jr in this scenario.

Come on, those hot takes are weak!
How about "KAT and Booker demand trades and go play together somewhere else"? (I was going to say Spurs but there is no way this trade gets done)

Ayton hasn't improved much besides having Rubio as PG, therefore more touches. Hope it's not true tho.

I'm not sure what scares me more with porzingis, the injury history or the fact he seems like a complete dbag **** for brains off the court.

It would have been a risky move, yes, but if there wasn't any risk involved we wouldn't have been able to get a player like him on discount. Porzingis is almost a perfect fit next to ayton due to his ability to stretch the floor and play defense, and would have been a really nice pick and pop option to play with rubio and booker as well. Even if he doesn't fully recover, his value to dallas is likely going to be a lot more than they have given up for him.

I was so mad when I saw Dallas get Porzingis for cap space , it happened so quickly...
I felt a lot better when the reports dropped of being a dbag to the Knicks and then the sexual allegations were made...
Doesn’t seem like the greatest locker room guy...
I think we may have our pf of the future between Saric/Kaminsky.

I think OKC moves Paul to Miami and misses playoffs
San Antonio misses the playoffs
Jazz and Nuggets are top 3 in West
Raptors will be a 6-8 seed
LAkers will be a 6-8 seed. I don’t like players 3-15 as a group
Suns double win total

Would you take Saric/Kaminsky over dbag Zinger?

Bridges shoots 40% from 3
Suns don't get blown out by 50 in game 1 vs the Kings
