I am of the opinion that Dicky sat out just so he can be fully rested to douche out the Jazz.

If Kelly Oubre truly has broken out, that would be amazing. Through three games he has looked like our 2nd best player, and has been our best player so far this season overall. He is a defensive monster scoring 20 ppg like Oladipo was two years ago. Then we still have our best player Booker, and if Kelly has taken the next step then we have a star duo even with Ayton out. So in that context, our results against the Clippers and Nuggets make sense - the team right now still has two centerpiece players on the court surrounded by solid role players. Any team would have a hard time beating a team with Booker and a player like Oladipo (who Kelly has played like so far this year).

Oubre has really provided a spark. Moreso than last year. He still makes me nervous sometimes when we are playing good team ball moving it to the open shot, and he drives recklessly on occasion, but most of the time when this happened and I was nervous down the stretch of last game, he delivered.
It's hard to ask him to tone it down with that too because what does make me nervous (being recklessly energetic) is also what gives him that edge.
The only thing I would hope is that he moves the ball a little more at times instead of driving into heavy traffic. It worked down the stretch last time but didn't early in the game or in the first game.
His shooting came around too after a bad 3 pt shooting night in the opener, but shooting overall he's over 50%, largely because of the dunks.
But I'm impressed so far. I hope to see consistency there.

Will also be interesting to see how much Gobert's D impacts us. Baynes might be the better guy to go against him than Ayton, particularly since he's faced him in internation competition a few times and probably knows how to go against him. But Gobert stopping our guard play at the rim is the big thing. This is where Oubre going inside might be trouble.

Continue playing defense.
We will be much better than everyone expected.
Still only the 4th game in but this is exciting. I doubted Monty and i doubted the Rubio signing. I love that so far i was wrong.
But like i said continue playing defense.
We have scorers. We have depth . Lets keep this **** going!

Just dont penetrante that's where Gobert is comfortable, he really suffers if he have to cover bigs outside, he improved in that regard last season but where he is a monster is at rim protection.

Taking into account how both teams started the season I see this game pretty winnable. Even now that Bogdanovic joined Utah's squad.
I hope Ricky is Ok for the game. I can see that inner feelings and spirit of Phoenix have already changed because of him and Monty and now I can see that they believe they can win (the players) which is very important.
I think Rubio is a key piece in this matchup as he knows very well how the Jazz plays.
After the victory against tue Clippers I just can't wait to watch this one.

Hopefully Conley doesn't finally get it going since he's been awful so far, but I don't imagine Rubio or Carter will allow him to. Booker should take it a personal challenge to shut down Mitchell as well.

That's what I meant. We finally found that fighting spirit which is compulsory to do something interesting in this league. I don't think we're going easy on them. I'm quite hyped about it.

3rd game in four nights....It'll be tough but I think they'll pull it off. 107-101.

Yeah he's played extremely well. He's mostly shooting 3s and getting to the rim and that's exactly how they need him to play. Hell always have some wild drives that will leave you shaking your head at times but they kind of need that too because other than booker and to some extent Rubio Kelly is the next best option to give the ball to and let him make something happen himself.

I am actually expecting a bad game from Oubre because Utah is such a well-oiled defense and his recklessness will be exploited. Those crazy drives where he pump-fakes in the air to get a very contested layup won't work against Gobert.
Our defense is awesome, but Utah still has the #1 rank in DRTG this season. It will be legendary.

I definitely agree with both of you about Oubre. It's a player I followed since he was drafted, but he kind of let me down with his character. I thought he was too shelfish and too needed of recognition to be a succesful player.
However, since he landed in Phoenix, these aspects of himself seem to pump him up allowing him to give his best on the court. We've been able to see Kelly the three games constantly attacking, cutting to the rim, playing aggresive in defense and I just love it. The good news are that last season was already like this but this one seem to be a little more polished, so no reason to not be confident about his performance.
Also this style of game really clicks on with Rubio as we've been already able to see several times Ricky driving with the ball as Kelly cuts to receive in the paint and finish it off. This play is going to be featured by this team along with many others which are being developed right now.

Who do you think Booker guards in the opening lineup? Mitchel or Conley?

I don't know...I was thinking his defensive impact was a lot better, and I think we handle a lot of things with team defense, but according to this metric at least, his defense hasn't been too good..
