Tyler Johnson: It was nice to know you.
Seems pretty obvious Tyler is out of here, although he's a nice insurance piece (maybe). Where do y'all think he'll go and when?
Or...will he go at all?
There has been so much talk of Love, Griffin, Gordon, and even Aldridge...I guess I'd have to go with Aldridge if I had my choice, but after years of no PF on the team, I'm pretty happy with what Saric has been doing and look forward to seeing what he can do with Ayton.

I don't know for sure, But I'd have to think that they have a few trade ideas in the works, And that's why they're holding him out. Possibly to avoid injury prior to a trade. Also it adds in with them testing their players to see what they have and what kind of value they could merit individually in a trade. That's just my two cents.

He'll be gone soon. Either way, I saw him "raising the roof" after bridges blocked a shot tonight. Clearly, he has larger problems than where he's going to play the rest of the year.

I hope James Jones doesn't just buy him out like he did with others. Can definitely find some value with his contract.

I don't think Tyler not playing is a sign some trade is immenent. I think they simply view Jerome as the present and future backup PG. They spent a 1st round pick on the guy so they believe in him and while they are trying to win they are still trying to develop players.
They could use his salary in a trade but it's not a given. They might just let him expire and use that money on something else this summer.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I agree. And depth isn't a bad thing we should have learned by now.

It is most likely he finishes his contract here and they benefit from the expiring salary.
They could trade him as an expiring but it would take a situation where there is another good player who is a fit here who really wants out AND the Suns having something else that team wants in return.

I'm fine with that. It's not like Booker is a paragon of health. I'd rather roll with these guys + Ayton and keep building our chemistry. Let him expire and we'll have more options later.

Tyler, Ayton, Okobo, 1-2 protected firsts

Towns.
Get it done.

I am not sure I do that one. Sub Oubre for Ayton and I am all in. Maybe throw in another pick.

Wolves don't do any trade with us that doesn't have Ayton or Booker, why would they? They need a franchise guy back if they're going to give one.
Plus I don't like Ayton at PF.
LOVE this team:
KAT / Baynes / Diallo
Saric / Frank
Oubre / Cam
Booker / Bridges
Rubio / Jerome / Carter
I'd then make a move for a vet back-up PG

Tyler is a pro. He will be ready when called on. Makes sense they want to see Jerome.
As for where he is traded - I picked GSW. I don’t see the Suns getting Gallo or Love. Jones even told BurnsGambo they want to see how the team adapts to DA.
I said Warriors as I think DLo - if trades - goes to Minney and the Suns take Teague for Tyler.

Please not TEAGUE. He is so so bad.

Getting DLo would basically neutralize Rubio in every sense and I’m not sure that’s best for the Suns.
It would Rubio into an off ball player which isn’t his strength.
The guy I want from Golden State is Draymond Green. I think he’d be anxious to show that he can still be successful even without riding Curry and Klay’s coattails.
His defense and rim protection could push the Suns into being a contender especially as he could help Ayton improve on that end too.

Tyler Johnson and a 2nd for Jeff Teague would be a good trade for us IMO.
Tyler Johnson is a third string PG nowadays. He lost his place in the rotation because he was playing TERRIBLE basketball on both sides of the court. He has lost a lot of athleticism and he has never been a good shooter/distributor. Last season he played well enough for us, but this season (other than a few games at the beginning) he has been a disaster.
Teague would be probably the best backup PG in the entire NBA. I am not a big fan, but the guy can play.
At the end of the day it's better to wait and see how our team plays with Ayton back in the rotation. We can decide about trades in February.

Is he worse than Tyler? Is there a possibility Teague is better in the same role than Tyler? I get Teague is bad if he's your starter or he's playing extended minutes but if we can turn Tyler ,who's not really playing, into a guy who might be productive in 10-15mpg off the bench for the same cost, I think it's worth a gamble. At worst, we get nothing from him which is what we're getting from Tyler now.

Again - the trade is only if DLo goes to the Twolves for like Teague Culver and a first. If Big IF, the warriors want a bit more cap space. And Tyler and Teague for GSW are pretty much the same - expiring contracts.
