Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).
3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player. 2 for the second best and 1 for the 3rd best.
**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player in either award. **
In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:
-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss -2 votes for the second most responsible -1 for the third most responsible
Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.
After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.
The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!
The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.
10+1 Game update wooooooo
bat, where u been? Making a new scoring system that automatically pushes all y'all scores into the spreadsheet
Why'd it take so long for an update? I put it down to growing pains, trying to make this thing work better
How does it work? It tallies everyone's scores and then normalizes them. From there it distributes the scores for the game based on these normalized vote tallies.
Has anything changed in the way I vote? Not really. Of course, the more standard and consistent the voting style, the better for me to handle. It's still in development so I will begin to handle less standard styles of voting with time.
What are the scoring rules? Same as usual. We've stopped allowing voting for coach in the official vote as it messes with the consistency of the scoring system. As has always been the case - you cannot give any player in either award a vote bigger than +/-3. If you do, I just cap it at +/- 3.
However you'll now see in the spreadsheet that players are getting decimal scores and now some players are getting scores higher than 3. That's due to the game scaling. The standard score total to hand out is 6. In wins, that goes up, in losses that goes down. And vice versa for the Cactus.
HOWEVER this doesn't affect they way you vote for players- you still get only 6 votes in either award. The scaling comes after the votes are tallied.
+3 Rubio +1.5 Kaminsky +1.5 Saric
A lot of complaining about the second two, but they have very solid games overall considering, I don't know if Rubio was twice as good, but better, so only way to rally score it. Almost went 2.5/1.75/1.75 but their 3 pt shooting could have been a little better. Overall though, decent all around games.
HM: Baynes and Bridges nice with boards, assists , steals, D.
Tough loss, especially with the lead and ball and Cam losing it out of bounds.

+3 Rubio +1 Kaminsky +1 Baynes +1 Oubre
Baynes and Oubre for the plays in the clutch. 3 to Rubio because without him we should have lost by 30. Saric again with poor decision making in clutch fouls, but as I said, he usually do everything nice, just not efficient scorer, and didnt close some clutch rebounds either. That's why I dont give him points.

i hope this game demonstrates to the people here that rubio was a great get for us. he did everything he could to try to get us the win, and when he went out is when the Spurs took control.

Kind of strange regarding comments on Saric and Oubre, considering Saric had 17 boards and was much more efficient than Oubre.

I said the +1 to Baynes and Oubre were for the plays in the clutch. While Saric had that foul on Gay(he is becoming a specialist on making 3pt fouls), and didnt box out 2 clutch rebounds, nothing new with Dario sadly, that's why I dont give him points, because he is recidivist. But I agree he did a good game, but in this case I prefer not giving him a point because of that.

I agree, and while plays down the stretch are very important, boiling down a game to a particular play or two isn't the way I look at it as much. A lot of plays (and the entire play of each player) could vastly change the trajectory of where we were or how much we were up or down at that time. Grabbing that many rebounds was impressive. Of course the 3s should have been better but I thought Dario and Frank stepped up a bit in this one.

You are right, is my personal punishment that Dario will never know about hahaha. It just frustrates me, overall Oubre was worst than Dario but that clutch 3 was huge. I think this losses, are very painful, this one in particular. But at some point it will make us better. I'm really proud of the team, we never give up.

Rubio + 2.5 - 1/2 because of his ghastly mistakes towards the end. but he still gets 2.5 because we'd have been blown out without him. Saric- +1 - Lucky to get +1 because he was gar-bage in the clutch as well. Baynes +1 - Looked a fright early, but really turned it around after getting a dunk. Was looking like the Baynes of old. Hopefully this turns it around for him. Kaminsky +1 - Defensively he leaked like a sieve like usual, save for a couple of plays, and refused to box out as always, allergic to setting a screen, but he played pretty well for him. Hit some big shots in the third when we needed it.
Dishonorable mentions- Tyler johnson, Mikal bridges(IQ tonight was around the goose egg mark, flush this one and move on Mikal) and Monty(where to start with him.....).
