You must have really high expectations for Rubio to give him a 1, when he had 21/9/7 on 9/12 shooting and 2/4 on 3s along with taking charges and defense. Carter was nice but he played 20 fewer minutes. Sure we came back with him and Bridges in there, but it wasn't Rubio's fault we were down early...it was the rest of the starters, particularly Booker and Oubre. Sorry, but seeing Carter above Rubio seemed very strange even though he made a nice impact. You swap their places/minutes we would have no chance.

uhh i didn't say it was Rubio's fault that we were down. I gave Bridges and Carter the +2 because they were the spark plug that lit that 3rd quarter "explosion" which continued into the 4th.
Anyway, it's my Nashties to give and I usually give some recognition to normally underappreciated players.

I know it's yours to give, but just feel Rubio can be really overlooked. Rubio kept us in this game in the first half. It was a 6 pt game when he subbed out and a 14 point game when he came back in, and the lead then was cut to 4, ending down 7 at the first half.

He had some painful, uncharacteristic turnovers tho. He was certainly good but Mikal was dope in every way. Carter only got to play because Okobo AND Jerome **** the bed, and Carter and Mikal brought the energy that broke the Suns out of their malaise. And Cam was really good too, shooting and especially fighting on the boards. Cam and Ricky ended up tied for the team lead in rebounds.

It's a good thing you gave Rubio +3 then

Yeah, hard not to with 75% shooting, 9 and 7, with none of the other big defensive impact players taking a lot of shots or getting assists/rebounds, though Mikal's shooting was very nice....9 shots a lot for him as of late.

Ricky led the team in points, rebounds, and assists while shooting 9/12. So a +3 for him is CERTAINLY defensible. Bridges and Carter both had 3 steals AND shot well (Mikal 5\9, Carter 2\2) and their energy really changed the game. Carter was a +13 in just 14 minutes. Cam was 3/5 from 3, had 7 rebounds and drew 2 offensive fouls. So I have it as a strong 2 points for Mikal and Carter, a very strong 1 for Rubio and 1 for Cam. The Suns had a bunch of guys play very well and should have won but didn't because Denver is good, Jamal Murray hit a bunch of huge shots down the stretch, and Booker and Oubre both sucked.

I agree, but they did also do it against bench units. I can defend Bridges getting as many because he ended up with a lot of minutes. Carter can usually only play that hard in short stretches.
I can understand people not fully seeing the complete value Rubio provides, because it isn't always totally flashy, but he makes a big difference himself and carried the starters with Booker missing like his first 7 or 8 shots and Oubre missing a bunch. I think they were like 1-14 combined at one point though Rubio still had the team within 4 right before halftime I think until Denver hit a shot to stretch it to 6. Our bench just finally really hit it in the 3rd against their's which was nice until Booker got it going.
