Ayton has much longer wingspan, and is taller, and more athletic

Plus in his 1st year he averaged 5.9 and 3.6, shooting under 40% from the field...in over 20mpg.

Second year 11/7 and 51%.

He doesn't block shots.

He is a solid fundamental player, good defense but not rim protector, good, smart offense, but he didn't really blossom until his 3rd year when he averaged 14 and 9 on 59% from the field. More #s this year but FG% down to 53%

Ayton is already over 18 and 12 at 54%, and that is not shooting well yet. Last year he was at 58.5%. And he blocks some shots.

Sabonis a good passer but in 2nd years they had/have about the same assists.

No, not really, he was one of the few really hustling for loose balls, battling people for a rebound, etc. Hit a 3 when we were still trying to come back. Most everyone else has played like trash, especially for what you expect from them.

He’s been bad more than just tonight though. Most notably the Hawks game in which he got to start and had the worst defender in the NBA as his matchup in Trae Young.

I know you want to believe in him and I liked him too before the Hawks game (defended him quite a bit) but after that, I realized his chances of becoming a solid rotational player are pretty slim.

I know you don't like him. That's fine. Young goes off on everyone. If you're talking about offense, teams constantly switch and help at the rim. He started in that game and I agree he's not a starter. Frank played great off the bench at the start of the season but when he had to be our starting C he sucked and people decided he shouldn't be on the team, but the fact is he just shouldn't start.

Okobo hadn't played much before this season, wasn't expected to play much...people were saying Lecque (who is very raw and currently really sucks) was better before the season. Jerome and Carter were expected to be better.

I agree we could use a better starting PG but I like his development overall this year. But sure he's had some bad games.

I liked Okobo a bunch when we drafted him and I had hopes that he could be a solid backup PG this season from off season development after his rookie season. But he lacks the mentality to actually look to score and defers way too much instead of just trying to do something himself every now and then.

Yeah Booker calls for the ball when Okobo has it but Okobo should learn to ignore him at times like Oubre ignores Booker every play (which is too much).

The Hawks game yeah I was talking about his offense which is why I mentioned Trae is the worst defender in the league. I think many G league and YMCA players can probably put up 15-20 pts on Trae Young with ease so I expected more from Okobo than his 0, 3 & 3 line.

Nope. Wouldn't even trade Ayton for A.D or Luka.

I would in a heartbeat. That’s just foolish. Anyway terrible effort tonight. Another bad start, absolutely no threats from outside means they get to pack in the paint. Indy is a good team.

Btw those talking about TJ ask Jimmy what he thinks about him lol :D

No doubt people like to be critical of Ayton because they think they could have had Doncic who's a superstar. But that's not fair to Ayton. If you actually compare him to the likes of Sabonis and other similar players, he's head and shoulders above them in the developmental trajectory and is pretty much guaranteed to become at the very least an All-Star. That might not be quite as good as Doncic, but it's still damn amazing.

There is nothing redeeming about the Suns. Nothing. No one. It is a chore to care.

That James Jones quote from this week, “We are excited about DA’s return and the past twelve weeks blah blah and we will continue to get better blah blah”.......GTFO

start thinking about moves because you keep the team as is ... 10-11 seed every year till book asks out !!!

You guys wanna keep book and DA (as do I, bearing a kat splash) oubre and a 1st have to be available to get something decent in return

sunskerr wrote:Just not seeing anything with Jerome. FO hopes he's Steve Nash but he actually might be worse than Kendall Marshall. As unathletic as Nash was he was quick enough to take guys off the dribble. Jerome is too slow and is like Kendall Marshall in that he's not taking anybody off the dribble.

Jevon Carter is way worse than DeAnthony Melton. No comparison there. Another stupid acquisition.

The funny thing is that he was our best player in the preseason and actually did reminded me of Nash but when he got that ankle and calf injury and being out for so long probably killed his confidence. I think the front office and the coaching staff are to be blamed for not sending him to the G League. I honestly still believe in him but they have to send him to the G League to build back his confidence

So in 3 minutes Zion made 4x as many threes as we did as a team through 3 quarters?
