Clippers have been struggling as of late. Paul George isn't the same. I know they embarrassed us the last time around, but I think us at full strength have a good chance of stealing this one.

Beverly's looking a LOT like Rubio this year. :o

That could be a blessing in disguise. I know Oubre attacks the rim and plays great but without him it means more shots for Ayton, Booker, Cam, Bridges.

Frustrating. Once we get semi-healthy, someone goes down. Replacing Oubre’s 18.7 pts and 6.4 rebounds is not easy. His energy means a ton to the team, especially at home where we can’t rely on our terrible fans. Mikal struggles to score too often. Hopefully Cam can get good looks. Wouldn’t be surprised if there is more to the knee injury. I hate this season.

I'm okay with this.

Kelly is not the difference between a win and a loss.
If they bring in Johnson to start, allow Rubio to control the ball, and feed Ayton in and around the paint, then the defense will potentially sag to help Zubac. This will open up Johnson and Booker.

Give Johnson the green light to shoot when open and/or fake shot and drive and there's the potential to catch their defense on the back foot.

Good game to test ourselves.

Does anyone else notice that most Suns injuries happen on off days? Or at least they play through the game perfectly fine but then the next day they announce the injury which may have stemmed from the game or practice or something else?

Saric was the only player who had to leave the game because of injury. Everyone else had injuries announced on a day when there was no injuries.

Monty Williams must have some rigorous practice routines or something man.

You are both looking at this the wrong way.

Who the heck is gonna defend Kawhi and George now? Before we could’ve put Bridges on Kawhi and Oubre on George.

Now we have to put...Cam Johnson on George??? George has more muscles and athleticism in his left pinky finger than Cam has in his whole body. George probably lifts like triple whatever Cam does based on both guys physiques.

Not a knock on Cam cause his job isn’t to be a shut down defender, it’s to be a role player strict 3pt shooter. But not having Oubre puts us in a really bad position.

Good news is that this isn’t like a winnable that just became attainable. Clippers are finally healthy and just beat Memphis by like 40 or something. We probably weren’t going to beat them to begin with but at least we had a chance to make it competitive with Oubre.

Sometimes when you engage in athletic activity you can slightly injure yourself and continue to play without noticing, and then only the next day you feel it. Most of the time these things are extremely minor and you could play if you really wanted to with only a small impact on performance. He's very likely being held out because NBA teams are cautious with their millionaire employees, we're not going to the playoffs this year, and we've still got over 20 games to see how we finish the year.

In other words, long term this is not an issue at all.

Grizzlies have lost three straight, both the Blazers & Pelicans lost tonight. If Suns can manage to beat the clippers after a tough road win vs the Jazz our chances for playoffs should skyrocket from 10% a week ago to 45-50%.

Suns have to jump 5 teams so I think 50% is a bit generous, but there are certainly some things working in our favor right now:
  • Memphis has been struggling, has the toughest remaining schedule in the league, and is playing without it's two star power forwards (JJJ & Clarke).
  • Portland still without Lillard- only 1 1/5 games ahead of us at the moment.
  • New Orleans has been good now that Zion is back - only 1 game ahead of the Suns but playing very good basketball at the moment.
  • San Antonio Spurs have been a mixed bag - so very solid victories but some stinkers as well.
  • Kings are perhaps playing their best basketball of the season at the moment. Some solid victories over the past 4.

Clippers are at full strength so this is going to be tough. Booker hates Beverley and typically plays well against him. We need Ayton to do some damage against Zubac to win this one.

We also have two games left vs Portland and 1 game left vs the pelicans. We can win the tiebreaker against both teams.
