100%.

Also needs to work on those hands in or near traffic when he's got the ball or taking in a bounce pass.

We haven't seen him bring the ball down and getting stripped as much in the playoffs. It's like a completely different player.

No, he's doing more than fine with Monty, Mark Bryant and Chris Paul.

We just need more Ayton-centric packages. I assume we'll see that in next season.

He had 9 turnovers in the Clips series. I'm by no means saying he looks like he did when he was a rookie, but I still feel as if it's an area he can improve on a bit.

How many of these are top 10 career highlights? 2? 3? More? This one series was so great to watch.

I’ve watched him since he was 17 and didn’t think he would be making this kind of impact by year 7 let alone in the FINALS at 22. Also, what he is doing also shows that we need to guarantee CP3 comes back for another 2-3 years. Whatever it takes, Bobby.

The numbers for Hakeem training sessions speak for themselves. If Hakeem allows it Ayton needs to go. His post game would get immensely better.

He has an uncanny ability to rebound the ball. It is not just his size, he really knows what he is doing out there.

After Charles Barkley I think he is the best one that this franchise have ever seen... pretty sure no one has been better than him for the last 25 years on the Suns. Marion the closest.

Players who are just specialists in one area have an enormous advantage to be considered the best in that specificall aspect of the game, but their true value are low because they can not add too much to their teams and they usually do not play big minutes.

I give much more credit to complete players like Ayton, guys who are not just focused in one area and have big responsibilities on offense too. That is why I would not consider someone like Mark West (as an example) a better rebounder than Ayton...no way.

I've always assessed Ayton as a 15rpg per game player... but in the regular season you can tell he's holding back... but also Suns have good rebounding wings.... but if he actually focuses on rebounding he does it so easily. I've not seen such a good offensive rebounder in traffic like Ayton.

Yeah he's got the size and positioning and space-taking ability to dominate the glass, but last night I noticed his timing and speed. It's absurd. He's a full second quicker than guys going for the board. There were flashes of Dennis Rodman in the Admiral's body out there last night.

Nothing in the regular season lead me to believe Ayton was capable of stringing a run of playoff games together as he has. His rebounding, scoring efficiency, and attention to defense has been absurdly good. He's locked in and engaged for all the games and during the regular season he wasn't. He would have a good game, then a few mediocre games in a row, then another good game.

As Monty said "he's shown what he is capable of and we expect it all the time". Ayton has finally come around.

DA is a rebounding machine. But just remember the Matrix - he was 6.7 and was still grabbing close to 12 boards a game.
Anyway, DA will develop more in the next years and as you said, he could become a 15 rebound a game center, but maybe it won`t be needed.

My first read on DA was he was going to be a Brad Daugherty type player. Mid range shot, so so defender, and 10 rebounds per game. i.e. someone who would be remembered for a solid teammate but not really a star. Right now what I am seeing from Ayton is a player that is going to give you 20 and 10+ but will defense that may re-write the expectations on a center. We always talk about block shots but Ayton is simply stay on his feet and in front of his man. In the end I think that Ayton is going down as one of the best center defenders without relying on blocks. He is going to be a star player not so much for being flashy but playing solid all of the time. I think that he should be getting more foul calls in time but i dont know if it will ever be a strength of his.

I agree, but people mention it every year and it's not going to happen. Besides, for now, Ayton has developed about as much as you can ask for. Sure he could have more offensive moves, a 3, etc, but he can only work at so much at a time, and his defense, screening, rolls, finishes couldn't be much better at this point.

I don't think Shaq or DRob would do much.

Now maybe a real coach like Ewing who had to develop a lot of that stuff after his knees went out even though he wasn't a guy I thought of as elite....or Kareem, but I don't see that either.

It's gonna be hard to justify him shooting threes. This season he was .633 for two-pointers. He would need to be shooting .422 from three to be as efficient. Maybe as he gets much older and some of his athleticism wanes he can add a three. If anything, he should work on ball handling. I would love to see him drive by guys for dunks.
