Will we extend Bridges or will Sarver not pay 4 players big money for 1 or 2 years?

Yes, we extend him or at least match any offer as he is part of core

Doesn't really matter in my opinion if we are playing like we do in the last week or so... A fully healyth Portland on a roll and a bit gimpy (fresh back from injuries, no time to ge, maybe no Schroder) Lakers team is not that much different anyways.

I disagree as I think we match up terribly against the Lakers and their size. Oh well, it will be what it will be.

If it's not the Lakers, it will most likely be Portland. Can't see the Mavs losing 2/3, but Portland probably will.

I really feel deflated.

We look banged up and with nightmare matchups due to being naive strategically.

If there's a positive we can probably cap Bridges at $20m and Ayton at $27m which saves us $10m compared to if they peaked in a deep playoff run ($25m and Max). That 40m (across 4 years) can be used as an emergency fund to win a bidding contest whether on Paul or his replacement.

"Suns meet playoff intensity. Playoff intensity meet Suns. You're new to each other, I know, but if you don't start talking, it's going to be a short playoff fun."

They look tired and unconfident. They can't seem to find that last gear right now. I hope the coaching staff knows what they are doing because the players surely don't look like they have a clue. Warriors outworked them last night just like the Lakers did a few nights ago.

More likely we get the Blazers. Have you seen each of their remaining schedules?

I think Portland has us, Utah and Denver

Dallas has the Pelicans, Raptors and TWolves. I guess the Lakers could get to 5 if Dallas blows a game (though I think Dallas holds the tiebreaker) so they'd have to lose twice and Lakers win out which is very improbable.

For the Blazers it's all about the next two games because Denver is likely to have nothing to play for the final game and will sit everyone.

If Utah beats Portland tonight the suns need to beat them on Thursday. If Portland wins tonight... Well I'm not saying the suns should tank for the 3 seed but I also wouldn't be upset it it happens.

Yeah, Dallas holds the tiebreaker with the Lakers (or if there is a 3 way tie by virtue of being the division leader). Portland has the tiebreaker over both of them individually though.

that division winner thing is so dumb. why should a team be rewarded for playing in a weaker division?

That’s some serious reach for the silver lining.

What is the message if we didn’t tender an extension to DA? How does that effect a trade? Nothing is in stone. Jones is going to have to play some upcoming cap magic, as well as necessary roster adjustments. I’ll be GDed if I can stand another year of prime minute Shank. It’s inevitable there will be some unscheduled departures.

Portland has now passed Dallas in standings any chance Mavs can finish 6th-7th seed while Lakers get 5th?

Doubtful with the Mavs schedule. They play the Pelicans tonight who are without Zion and Ingram at least, and then Toronto who have been resting people, and then Minnesota. Portland plays Utah, us and Denver.

Utah are a bunch of bums 4 loses at home and are getting embarrassed. Figures after securing a 2nd seed the Suns prize are the Lakers. NBA can go suck themselves off..

When the Jazz put in Matt Thomas, I knew they were treating this game as a glorified practice.

Also, look for Denver to blow off their game against the Blazers in order to push the Lakers into the play-in.

Yeah, I figured as much when I saw Trent Forrest launching a bunch of 3s when he shoots them at 15%.

Clipps will see us tanking and tank themselves. What makes you think they want to face Lakers when Blazers/Mavs look more intriguing.

Only hope now is that either the Thunder or Kings treat their game against the Jazz as their championship and we win out. Unlikely.

My real hope is if the Lakers play the Warriors for 7, Curry goes off. I feel much better about our chances in a 7 game series versus the Warriors than the Lakers.

At least we can maybe rest our guys now with no real consequences.
