The Mavs will be very motivated to get out of their slump with most of the players back now. THJ will probably have today the one of three games he looks like a star and hit everything. Doncic 15fta minimum. They are slight favorites according to the bookies as well. Putting a small bet on Mavs win to jinx them.

Mavs are a team that’s actually better than their record. I disagreed when the same was said about teams like Wizards, Raptors, Pistons, Thunder etc but it definitely applies to the Mavs.

Opposing bigs have gone off against the Mavs this season. They gave up a big game to Gobert yesterday and even washed up Cousins had like 28 and 15 against them which was his best game in like 3 years I think.

Hopefully Monty realizes this and features Ayton instead of putting up like 40 3pt attempts today. And more importantly hopefully Ayton realizes this and plays aggressive like he did against Denver.

We could’ve won this even without Book but I think not having Payne and Saric hurts us quite a bit. Thinking the game will be similar to the Nuggets games from last weekend.

I am afraid the Mavs come out strong against the Suns and felt maybe Richardson and some others coming back from COVID were just rusty in their last one after being off more than a week. It happened when the Suns had a week off and then came back rusty.

I don't like playing teams desperate for a win. Also, the Suns finally started clicking without Booker who has been out, and they play better without one of Paul or Booker on the floor and bad with them together. Booker and Saric I think should be back but I worry about rustiness.

Their last game they had more ball movement and motion than in any game, but I fear with Booker back, and all his iso, it makes other players watch and feel less engaged in the game.

Edit: Posted this before reading Revived's above, but pretty much agree. Obviously they are much better than their record and how they have been playing. They were missing most of their starters for over a week.

Damn..in a way I think missing Payne and Saric our worse. We just don't have that good bench ball handler and playing Kaminsky is just scary, especially against a team with size like Dallas.

However, I did love the motion last game and the entire team being engaged. Missing Booker hurts, but it seems all the other starters are better and the team is more balanced, making us less predictable, while giving guys like Bridges and Ayton more of a chance to step up on offense, and both are more efficient than Book this year. Cam and Crowder are more involved as well.

And of course our defense is MUCH better for the starting unit. I would say it hurts down the stretch not having another closer, but I don't really think that either as the whole team will stay engaged down the stretch instead of standing around watching and then getting MAYBE, if Booker is trapped, getting a surprise bad pass with 3 seconds on the shot clock.

Looking forward to a good game. Took a break from the board last game to spare everyone some negativity but we finally played well. Hope they keep the momentum going and don’t get too jack-happy. With the Zinger out we should feature Ayton heavily and early to make sure he gets engaged right off the bat. I’m sure Bridges will have the initial Luka assignment, but I would like to see some Crowder and maybe even Ayton on him too to mix things up and prevent him from getting comfortable. I think Crowder and Ayton have the strength to slow him down near the basket better than Bridges will.

I think the key to Luka control is limiting his FT attempts. I think you try to turn him into a 3pt shooter as much as possible, sag off and don't let him drive. He's a pretty bad 3pt shooter (30%), so unless he has an amazing night, you're probably going to be ok.

The problem is that when he starts making it a parade to the line, and can score easy buckets with the clock stopped that he hurts you.

Ugh... She’s the worst man...her commentary is so boring and bland. I want to like her but she makes it so hard. To her credit she does seem a little more lively this season than in the past, but she’s gonna need to move the needle a lot more than that before I stop sighing whenever I hear she’s on that night’s game

Yeah, that Bridges video I posted in the other thread showed that was their goal in their first game against Luka...well, not to let him drive, even if they had to help on D.

I’m very surprised to hear someone say that... She is obviously very knowledgeable, is that her appeal for you?

Man, the "Big 3" in Houston of Wall, Dipo and Wood are killing it the last couple games. tonight they have 50 points in the first half on 18-27 shooting as they are crushing the Pelicans.
