Lakers (Interference) Explanation | Rule?

Post#1 » by Wilber85 » Thu May 20, 2021 1:36 pm

Can someone explain to me how this was not interference, 6 men on the court, violation, technical, etc?

Remember when our team came off the bench in the playoffs!

Don't mind the jenky photo. Projecter upstairs in media bulb it dying

Someone post this on GM for me. I am banned

Checking on your teammate who got assaulted= suspension

Interfering with play by stepping on the court = good defense

I wonder what the difference is....

This is ridiculous. That should have been a tech or something.

I don't think there's any comparison to what happened with the Suns. It's clear in the rules about which scenario would warrant ejection/suspensions.

If anything, there should be a technical here but yeah no comparison to the Suns players leaving the bench during an altercation.

And while i was rooting for the W's in this game, if they called a tech here it would be a bit outrageous.

I do think they have been way to relaxed over the years about benches standing on the court during games which leads to these kinds of scenarios. If you're not in the game you should be on the court. simple as that.

Coaches step on the court all the time during plays and aren't called for anything. They aren't going to call this. Especially since it had 0 impacted on the play

Your saying as a shooter who believes they’re alone and then someone steps into your peripheral vision and claps right in your ear wouldn’t affect the shot? Not to mention being worried about coming down on someone’s foot and rolling an ankle. If I am shooting in that corner I would sale it and make sure a bench player makes contact with me

This had Zero impact on the play? There were 5 players around him yelling and one jab stepped at him! Ridiculous that you think this is alright behavior.

The comparison is that players were off bench and on court. Not same scenario but if this is OK! The Suns bench needs to just stand on the line the whole game talking crap!

That's my fault. I thought AD was the shooter. Not sure how I missed the Warrior shooter. I think I was watching the guy stepping on the court and then looked up and saw AD there.
I would have argued that if I'm Kerr (he probably didn't see it).
The bench probably can do whatever they want as long as they aren't touching the player but the guy who stepped on the court, in that scenario, absolutely should have been T'd

Well bench players can't do whatever they want. When they say something out of line, they can get T'd up just like any player on the court. This should have been a T, no question. The fact that nothing happened is troubling, and it seems like coaches are oblivious to what their bench is doing, and/or encourages that poor sport mentality.
