Not sure I like this… isn’t shamet basically Jevon without defense? Hope we are getting a 2nd back

No, he is a clear upgrade.

He is taller than Jevon, a pure SG who can score a lot of threes. Elite shooter.

I think it is a very good trade.

Another scorer off the bench. Seems like a possible Cam Payne security blanket. I think they could play together off the bench, too. Not bad.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Hope so. I knew we were trading the pick. I just hope this means we are using injury exception for Dario now with the extra roster spot.

Most important thing tonight…. Let’s hope the Warriors don’t land Beal (especially if WB deal goes through)

Gambo says that JJ Redick is gonna sign with the Nets so he will take Shamet's role.

It is a bit sad to lose Jevon Carter, the bulldog, but Shamet is the better player. No doubt about it.

Shamet didn't really work out in Brooklyn but but he's a pure shooter with far more playmaking ability than Carter. Carter is better defensively but he's basically a wing in a little PG body so that creates some issues of being really small when paired with Payne it another actual PG.

Respect to Carter and I've enjoyed having him on the team the past two years. I actually think he's a great fit playing with Harden and could be a good 10-15 mins a game guy for Brooklyn.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Not the defender at all that Carter is
But a better shooter thats for sure

Clears a bit of cap space this year - which might help with the luxury tax
long term - losing a young player

I truly don't hate it. With a team on the upswing, getting a decent quality player off the bench probably helps more than Carter or the 29th pick

 I'll be ok. Shamet isn't the PGOTF that I would've preferred, But he's experienced and supposedly pretty good!
We're trying to compete and need more experienced players for sure! I'll wait to see how things play out.

Are we sure that we aren't getting one of the Nets' 2nds back? Don't they have, like, 4?

They do. Hopefully we get one. JT Thor time.

Although we may not have a roster spot

I'd prefer Nix, especially in the middle of the 2nd round.

Neemias Queta, Charles Bassey, or Jay Huff?
They were looking at Amiir Simms as well from the undrafted talent pool. :)

Wasn’t overly thrilled initially but then saw some highlights and Suns could use a spark off the bench to go along with Payne.
I also want everyone to say Shamalamadingdong every time he hits a three so that’ll be fun in game threads.

Oh well, there goes my hope of adding a PG prospect with the draft pick. Shamet is a decent rotation player, he can be like a bootleg Redick.
I Dont wanna be here
