Big oof. No reason to bring him back before the all-star game if he needs the extra time. Gonna have to utilize Cam more at the guard position I suppose.

Well I hope that means he is ok, and if out tonight, hopefully he is back soon. Never mind, that was Book...

If we don't make any moves soon, we will need him so other guys don't get burned out. I still don't understand why we haven't filled that second two way spot. I highly doubt that a buyout player will qualify for that spot.

He has improved his game since the All Star break but lately he is killing it.

We can't overlook his role in fourth quarters. Monty wants the ball in Book's hands and Shamet is an excellent option next to him on the backcourt.

That's a nice option to have for years to come.

Stephen (@StayTrueSDot3) Tweeted:
Landry Shamet's been on one since the break:

40 3PM's
2.4 3PM's per
50% on C&S 3PA's
10.2 PPG

He's finally sustained the time on task-ability expected, & it couldnt've come at a better time.

My latest on him & his value moving forward

Keeps playing like this and that contract is an asset not a liability.

One trick pony who's afraid to shoot.
Watching this guy play is so sad bc he lacks so much confidence in his game.

I don't think being afraid to shoot is his issue. It's hitting shots that's his problem

He's had better numbers in games but considering the circumstances I thought Monday was his best game as a Sun. They desperately needed someone to buy Chris and Booker some rest and he was solid. I thought he was decisive and was making the right play consistently on O and battled on D. Hope he can build on that tonight and moving forward.

Turns out that's a no.
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Back to my summer comment. "Shamet is unplayable in the playoffs". Dumb trade by JJ, and an even dumber extension in by the Suns. We could have gotten a solid rookie and kept Carter.

Landry Shamet met his father for the first time in his life during last season. He met his three younger siblings too and he had a tough period mentally adjusting to his complete new life.

He admitts that he didn't play well and he says that he agrees with fans and people that said that he wasn't playing well enough. He wants to redeem himself because he is now in a good place mentally and ready to go.

“The only child of a single mom my whole life, it’s a life changer,” Shamet continued. “Stepping into that, putting myself in that position, I think I underestimated all that would come with it. The things that would go on internally with me. So truthfully, a lot of the time last year, my mind stepping into games, it wasn’t all on basketball. I feel like I’m in a spot now where it can be because this whole summer, I was with family all summer.”

Hit your threes on a 40% clip and all is forgiven.

He does play good defense and handles the ball well enough/pushes the pace to be a positive factor.

I also like how he's been driving.

His defense has always been underrated because he really knows how to navigate around screens and is great chasing guys on the perimeter.

He plays hard and this season his shot selection has improved, he is now a two-way G with low usage who plays smart team basketball.

With his last performance in the playoffs he has earned a good chunk of his contract.

I assume these recent comments must have came after his 19pt game? I remember when we traded for this dude thinking he'd be an upgrade over Jevon Carter...good times
