I think he has earned his spot and he is gonna be a Sun at least for the rest of the year.

He can play at most in 50 RS games, no need to convert his contract like in the past.

Man, this is what I'd hope wainright could be, if he grows in confidence and gets used to the pace of the game we could have something. seems like a well liked guy too.

Ha, I was at the high school I work at today, and one of the students walking in the halls, looked so much like Ish, I literally took a triple take. Now he wasn't as tall as Ish, but his face and build was almost identical.

It was nice seeing Ish be tough against Morris.

I like Ish, I hope we won't need him to play in the playoffs, but he's a useful piece to junk it up and make something happen in a playoff game

He gives us another strong/physical player to use fouls on opposing stronger players.

He has pretty elite feet defensively and he is very smart. I can see why he has stuck.

I think lilfishi mentioned it in one of the game threads but it’d be nice if he can be a enforcer type player for us that hands out some hard fouls and plays tough the whole time. But he doesn’t seem like he has the personality for that type of a role, he’s more of a good nice guy type player.

Can hopefully provide some good minutes either way though if needed.

Yeah watching him get extended minutes, hrs not really a bruiser type that I thought he'd be with his body. But that's fine, we got Jae for the enforcer role, part of the "intangibles" we pay him for

The Phoenix Suns are signing two-way G/F Ishmail Wainright to a new contract for the remainder of the season, making him eligible for the playoffs, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Love this move. Sad to see Frank the Tank go but it doesn't seem like he was going to be ready so might as well have healthy body going into the playoffs.

He looks great right now. Hopefully hes becoming a real rotation player. We'll need him if we give up a lot for Durant.

Who would imagine PJ Tucker getting his break with the Suns at 27 and still playing at 37.

Gotta wonder if Wainwright has it in him to become a defensive specialist with a three-point shot.

Yeah, everything can happen.

For now he looks worse than MotherTucker was at his age because his defensive basketball IQ. Tucker was (and is yet) great at positioning himself on defense.

Question: With the singing of Ish , we lost the right to sing another player?
It would be amazing to see Derick Rose to the Valley.

Correct ... Suns would need to waive the weakest link to sign Rose. Who is that?
