They finished the regular season 17-5 last year after fine tuning their system to play without Thompson and are now 10-1. They got better by not having Oubre and Wiseman so far and added Bjelica, Porter, Iguodala who are all at 122/123 O-Rating.

Softish schedule but teams that start like this typically go on with it, if Thompson comes back at 80-90% they're looking like the team to beat for the West.

100%

I underestimated them based on this. Last season they were still in that play vets but also play the young guys phase. This season they added more young talent but they are really just playing their smart, high BBIQ vets that have bought into the system. Bjelica, Porter, Iggy and Looney, they aren't particularly talented nor special at this stage in their careers but they are smart player and they just know their role in the system and play it well enough to allow the team to run well.

And FWIW, Steph and Wiggins could both play better as well.

Lebron - Zion, Barrett like Melo, wade like Culver, garland like tj ford, hunter like bosh, white like Barbosa, Clarke like David West. I think this draft is actually going to be deeper though

Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) Tweeted:
Last week, Damian Lillard praised Mikal Bridges.

"Mikal Bridges is my favorite small forward in the league," Lillard told @ChrisBHaynes.

Last night, Bridges played some excellent defense on Lillard. https://t.co/lv3omRffm5

If only this and his friendship with Booker was actually enough to sway him to request a trade to the Suns. Not that will see a quality free agent ever again whilst Saver is here after his latest fiasco.

If we run with Chris Paul for 3 seasons that would coincide with Lillard free agency.

Charlotte shooting the hell out of the ball..better than the Warriors but somehow the Warriors are killing them on the boards (which is especially weird when the other team is shooting better)....so the Warriors staying ahead of them.

Probably the most underrated young player with rising star potential. Rarely hear his name mentioned among other young guys but it should be.

Minnesota should build around him and get rid of Russell/Towns imo.

Two young, inexperienced scoring guards running the team rarely if ever yields positive results.

Entertainment first, so I hope he plays. Even if he's not ready Mavs should not be taken lightly with KP playing like a star right now.

We might have a chance to make this a very long win streak

Marc Stein reports that Doncic is expected to miss Wednesday's game.

Edit: It is official now, Doncic out.

I hate alwas beating teams with injuries. I really wish we got teams at full strength. It likely inflates our record and may give our team (and fans) the feeling that we are better than we are.

I really want to see what this team is made of against the contenders. You take what's in front of you but like BW suggested, it doesn't really tell us who we are.

We just won 9 in a row and I don't feel like we're on top of the world, simply because of who we played.
The team has remained pretty focused against weaker teams which is a good sign. We really don't know if this is the same team that gets up for the good teams again.

How do people think we match up with the Warriors if both teams are healthy? Their depth will be a big issue. The fact we can switch on nearly everything is probably our biggest advantage. Our length will help too.

Warriors are like us in that they don't have any giant players or other worldly athletes who aren't bothered by the increased physicality of the playoffs (or maybe we do have one in Ayton), when refs let players body each other up. I think we match up very fairly well with them, although in years past they basically ran through any team that didnt have any of those types of aforementioned players who aren't bothered by the physicality, ex Blazers, Rockets etc.

I think Ayton would be very key in that matchup if he can get stat lines where he's grabbing 15 or so rebounds, and outworking the smaller Warriors inside for 2nd chance points when the refs swallow the whistle in the playoffs.

Depends on Curry. He is the key. when he is having a season like this, the team is unstoppable. Think about it. They don't even have Klay back yet.

But that team has so much championship experience with their big 3 with a lot of depth and even youth they haven't used now so who knows?

But Curry has to be on. They don't crush teams like the Nets, etc, if Curry isn't going 9/14 from 3. He regularly has games like that.

If any team had a player who regularly got on fire on super high volume from 3 and was unstoppable, they are almost impossible to beat.

If Booker ever were to get to where he could go 7/10 from 3 often and average like 45% overall from there on the volume he shoots we would be unstoppable and he would get close to becoming a top 10 player, if not nudge into the top 10.

These Warriors we can take. The Warriors with an ok and healthy Klay and Wiseman with a bit of time to gel and get in shape? I think we'd win 3 out of 10 games roughly...

I think we could only take them (even now) if we are shooting well and Booker is hitting buckets efficiently. Otherwise it would take a bad night from the Warriors to win. That goes for us against most quality teams though.

I am not scared of the Warriors at all.

I love Curry and he is for now this season's MVP, but I think their roster is not deep enough. I don't trust their bench and I think they have a BIG hole at C.

Until now (12W-2L) they are playing great BUT they have had an easy schedule IMO. They are gonna start losing games more frequently in the next few weeks.
