You can't play Payton ahead of Shamet and that won't happen (unless Shamet is out)...Shamet needs to get more experience with the team given his long contract. He is also way better off ball and will be guarded out to the 3 to spread the floor whereas Payton won't.
I showed Payton's shot chart earlier and he can't shoot outside of like 3 feet and he's often bad at that with his drives. Players can play off him and focus on passing lanes. He also is terrible defensively. Shamet is not good but he puts in a lot of effort. He's like where Book was his first 5 years.
Book has really improved and near neutral...can also be better than neutral and solid when really engaged on defense.
